I am lost............

hello,
this sounds really stupid, but I think I messed up somewhere along the way.
I am in the middle of building a website www.lanetzliving.com and it was suggested that I look into oscommerce. I downloaded and I am working my way around but when I try to see what it will look like on the web I get my old website, How do I convert that over? Was I suppose to name the file download index.html??

Oscommerce uses default.php instead of index.php (by default) Your browser is probably picking up index.php first. After you get installed, try www.lanetzliving.com/catalog/default.php
