We've been having a lot of problems getting a new forum we've added to our community to stay up and running for more than a couple of days. It resides on ftp02. Our forum software is ikonboard and ibsupport people are indicating (http://swarf.net/forums/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=13;t=3557) that some patches or upgrades may be needed for sql to run properly on the server.
Our problems seem to have coincided with the recent powweb outages. The most recent one being Friday. When powweb came back up, our community forum on ftp02 was trashed.

We have another forum running on another powweb server (magnatar) and no problems with it.

Anyone runninig a forum should frequently check for updates/patches. Powweb canned sendmail which is vulnerable to attacks so you're ftp02 suspicions are most likely accurate. So what can you do ?. Reload. Mabey download the latest version 3.1.2a then reload.

If you want to try the unoficial 'bug fixes' from your link disable the board temporarily or you may have more problems.

Actually we are running ikonboard 3.1.2a on ftp02. This is the latest version. We loaded it up early last week. Ran fine for a day. Then things went screwy. We then deleted everything and reloaded 3.1.2a, ran fine for 3 days then went down again. We then paid to have sql enabled, then had an ibsupport admin configure and fix us all up. It ran fine early Friday until powweb went down. When things came back up our forum was toast again. The admin at ibsupport says there maybe some sql issues on our server which need attention.
We have another ikonboard version 3.1.1 running on magnatar and things seem fine there.

Well, if you have an earlier version of the same board running fine on another server, I'd load that one on the troublesome one.

the outage you're referring to (our filer went down) on Friday the 20th of June did not effect our DB servers as their data is not stored on the filer, it is stored locally. It only affected data stored in your home directory. The data was not lost nor was it modified. It was simply unavailable.
