Hi everyone,
My domain name is about to expire soon. I bought it through Powweb, however when I look for a way to renew the domain name here on powweb, I am unable to find out how. I am pretty darn tired, but I dont think its making me not see the option.
Please tell me how to renew my domain name on this server. I got a letter telling me that I could transfer it to a new register and start paying them....but I think powweb is good enough for me. So please let me know.
Lou..

How do you want to pay ?

If credit card make sure your details are up to date in OPS and its automatic. Most times you will get an email saying the domain is due or needs renewal.

Croc Hunter is incorrect in this case - domain renewal is NOT automatic with PowWeb! He is thinking of hosting package renewal, which is automatic by default.

I don't have domains registered with PowWeb so can't answer the question on how you renew, but you must do it manually.

To renew a domain name registered through PowWeb, log in to https://ops.powweb.com and click on the "DomReg" tab. In the DomReg section, click on your domain name, then click the "Renew" button to extend your registration.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I went to the domreg and this is a copy and paste.

PowWeb has partnered with OpenSRS to offer you simple and inexpensive domain registration. Below are the domain name(s) you have registered through PowWeb/OpenSRS. For full domain management, click on the domain name.

*****.com Status: error Expires: 2003-09-22 03:35:27

This raises two questions now...Is it too soon to renew the domain name? Because I don't see any button that says renew.
And second... Status: error??????

I suggest contacting PowWeb support about this.

I did write support about this, but its interesting that now it says this..
That Domain name is not yet registered, not owned by you, or has expired.

I wonder what went wrong with it.

What's the domain?

I ended up sending a support message, and it's still open after 27 hours. I got a laugh when it said that sometimes they are answered in six hours. Sure it is...
and internetseer shows my website was up 96% last week. And thats the freebie once a day internetseer thing. 96%?? Good thing this isn't for a business.

Edited:

However, I should stress that PowWeb still rocks's and could never EVER be beat.

You won't see a "renew button/option" in OPS if your domain name is more than 60 days till the renewal date.

Do a whois lookup and it will tell you when the domain name will expire.

Thank you alphadesk... I will wait until then. However, how about the status: error thing? weird or normal?
And how much does the domain cost to renew through powweb??

Domain Renewal costs $15/year. What is your domain name? I will find your expiry daye myself if you want.

The error message is not normal, and Support should be helping you with it.

This is a copy and paste of what I got back from support..

Please disregard this error that you see, for it will not effect your domain
name registration at all.

Thanks, everyone, for your input..but this should be the resolve.

We have also been confused by the billing system. We get emails saying things are expiring, login to check and it gives an expiry date of some month in 2004. Requests for assistance from billing elicit responses with ticket numbers which say "we will reply within 24 hours." The last one I got was sent to me on June 15. I sent another today. I got only another "this is confirmation to let you know we have received and will reply within 24 hours." hmmmmmmmmm......
