Uptime

Has anyone found a maintenance schedule - i.e. PLANNED scheduled downtime for the various servers and applications. I have had some instances of mySQL going down and several others HTTP problems - but I tend to be checking our site at random (read: late) times and suspect they may be planned.

Overall our uptime is quite good - I am specifically looking for dates and times I can give to the users of my site.

Check the announcements postings in this forum. They seem to post planned outages there.

I have checked that forum.

The problem I have with the "planned" outages on the board are that they seem to be planned for 1 hour from the post or maybe the next day. I was hoping for a monthly maintenance schedule - aside from the inevitable issues that arise.

Our http server is www01.powweb.com
our mysql server is mysql02.powweb.com

Mr. Natural - are these the servers you are on as well? Interested to see if the issues from last week are confined to these or global.

The uptime on Powweb is really good. In the past 12 months, I can only remember two instances where my site was down because of server and network issues.

Alot better than most. But every host will have occasional glitches.
