bonuses only apply to new members?

Hey guys,
I've been with you guys for, well, this is my third year.
Ordered: 06/21/01
Activated: 06/21/01
Renewal Date: 06/20/04


Why don't people who are renewing get the same bonuses (ie: 2 months free) as those who haven't been loyal patrons? I enjoy and appreciate the service, I'm just curious.

I find this just as strange as the $35 domain name change charge. They should let you do that at renewal as well, if you want.

It would seem a lot more expensive for them to turn on and off accounts that just offering everyone the "newbie freebees" at renewal time.

But then . . . I have not seen the details of their business model.

Just cancel your service and get a new account with the same domain name (or change it that way if you want). It seems that is what powweb wants people to do at renewal time.

It's an incentive for new customers to sign up, after that, no more free time. Sounds reasonable to me, PowWeb's price is still the best I have seen.

About the $35 to change your domain name, I do agree that's a bit excessive. Do they really need to make money off of this? In my opinion it should be $15 max, the cost for a year's registration.
