Windows "Startup" Theme not playing

I'm running Win98...Up until yesterday my "customized" sound settings played fine. Something happened yesterday morning and I can't get them reconfigured.

I pull up the sounds page in control panel, make sure my "scheme" is set to the custom file, I check the audio file using the "preview" button and it plays perfectly...HOWEVER, when I restart my computer--nothing, just silence...BUT, if I choose the WINDOWS DEFAULT sound scheme it plays their sound...ANY IDEAS???

FYI, I don't need XP right now, I also have NN 6.0 and NN 7.1 along with IE 6.0...I prefer NN 4.7...So take the rest of your analysis crap and tell it to the folks in you therapy group. Geez! Guess there's a bad apple in every group of otherwise great folks!
