NOW...JUST NOW (071303 / 2021H), any other website on earth
is OK for me to get in BUT my website is NOT, 20 minutes ago is OK...Just only one problem I 'tll can;t login to edit my site
(Won't accept my password).......................NOW the whole thing
is down, can't even get in to my website

The admins aren't constantly monitoring the forums - especially at 8:30 p.m. (their time) on a Saturday ngiht...

Post more specifics...server you're on, exact error messages, etc.

It's true.
There's something wrong with Mars's authentication for ftping. I hope someone will look into this soon.

Look like they're (Powweb Adm), doing something lastnight (071203). My site OK now (FTP).
I believe they doesn't know which site had problem, so may be they stand by and keep tracking who ever post the problem then fixing.....

Im thinking "mars" need to change the name to "moon", to kool of the members.

The follow-up message in the PowWeb Announcements forum says only that "mars has been doing pretty well over the last couple of hours. we will continue to monitor it." Nothing about problems with ftp, or deliberately disabling it. I will, of course, cc this to support (even though I'm assuming they're well aware of the problem).

We've reported the FTP problem on mars to the admins and they should be on it soon.

"drabbytux" - your account is inactive. looks like it was set to "non-renew" and expired at the end of the last term. I renewed your account and reactivated it, so you should be back up in a couple hours. If the domain name has been inactive for more than a few days, it may take 24 to 72 hours for DNS to update completely so that the site is available everywhere.

I appreciate the support, but I'm the administrator of my own server and host my own site there. I still maintain another site on powweb, and I was concerned with ftping into that account.

Thanks, mjb, but I don't wish to renew my HOSTING account with powweb...."drabbytux" will, however, remain as my alias on this board...
