I's attempting install phpBB on my website, but I don't have the first clue as to how to set up my first database.
Is there anyone that can help.
I'd ask better questions but I'm not sure what I'm asking for.
Thanks in advance
Ole
First, if you haven't already, log into OPS and purchase a database from your accounting tab.
Second, download the newest copy of phpbb.
Third, upload your phpbb to your website via FTP.
Visit the installation directory through your web browser. It should automatically forward you to the installation page:
@ the installation page do the following:
Enter in the Database Server address (as supplied in mysql tab of OPS)
Enter in the Database Name, Password and username
Prefix - optional, can leave with default
Then click on the install button
(I'm refrencing PHPBB 2.0.4)

Very cool that you are getting into MySQL and the forums.
Just as an attempt to provide a little helpful advice, you might want to follow up and investigate these items.
If you don't already have FTP software, check out some FTP programs here (http://www.irarichardsmith.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=10&page=1) as I have compiled a list with short descriptions and links to the home page of each product.
Eventually you will need an administrative software pack to administer, backup, and restore your MySQL database with. You can check out some MySQL Admin tools here (http://www.irarichardsmith.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=11&page=1) as I have done a short write up of some of what is available and included links to the home pages of each product.
Hope this helps you out.
