What is the easiest way to get more disk space. I have used all but a fraction of my 650MB. I dont need more webspace for web pages just space for some files(large files)?

They have PowValue Plus - which has 800MB of disk space for $19.95
But it would almost be cheaper to just buy a second regular package for $7.77 a month and just link images back and forth.

Ya thats what i was thinking as well, basicly i would just use the second one as storage for my downloadable zip files.

Just be sure that your new package doesn't end up on "space".

Pretty sure that new packages wouldn't be put on that one.

Although I don't think the sites get put on the planetary servers anymore, Jupiter would've been a good one. That box had far less downtime then the others. When my site was here, it was on that server.

Im not sure, if it matters where the new one will be as i wont have a website to be up or down. I would just reference the address for my files from the current site?

but if it goes down people wont be able to download your files
Well, if you add another package to your account, there are no guarantees that it'll be on the same server as your first package. So, if your 2nd package server is down, you won't be able to access the files off of it.

Okie doky, ive heard that you can request a certain server, maybe ill try that, cause my server now seems like in the year or so that ive had it, it has almost never went down.

Hey i was just lloking at the powvalueplus package and i dont understand it. Its $19.95/mo. Why would anybody do that? Why would you just not go for the 2cd regular package for $7.95/mo thats $15.90 and you get 1300MB of storage rather than the 800MB. Could it be the transfer? i would think you would be ok there too if you just equalled out your files, am i wrong? what am i missing?
Edit: plus i was just thinking, would you not also get the $15 referal for refering yourself to powweb?

I asked a long time ago, and yes - you get $15 for "referring" yourself! :-)

well, having one domain name would be one reason, easier to set up files. if you use something like dreamweaver or FP, you would have to enter the whole url of anything you were linking to, as opposed to the locals you can do if it is all in one place. plus registereing a second domain name.

So hardly extra trouble and as far as the registering you get that back from refering yourself at least for the first year. But the money you would save would make up for that by the next year plus, i believe.
I am not long from setting up several more packages to tie in one way or another. I was simply suggesting reasons one might do it that way. the added features, don't forget the FREE mysql per package, lower costs, and increased sizes etc.
all new packages are assigned to our new servers:
www01, www02, www03, etc.
the old system structure is gradually being phased out as we continue our upgrades. previously, our servers housed at least three different servers: HTTP, FTP, and MySQL. the obvious problem with this is that reliability decreases as you increase the server load.
we are now shifting to a scheme that allows for much greater stability and reliability. new packages have separate HTTP, FTP, and MySQL servers. the site files are no longer stored on the server hard drive, but on a centrally located NetAp. this allows us to distribute the load across serveral systems rather than just one, as we used to do.
