View Full Version : Frames
I have a web site and I would like to use frames so noone can go in and steal my meta keywords. How can I improve my reanking if I have someone using the same keywords. I have heard that frames impede spiders preventing them from following the links yet I have seen pages ranked high that use frames...........
Am I jeopardizing my search engine listings or am I worry about nothing. Any thoughts? :)

I see you have added the no right click. This will at least keep the amatuers out.
Robots are not generally fond of frames. Make sure you add the robots.txt file and or the robots meta tags to instruct the robots to index the pages that you want them to. For example you probably don't want a robot to index a page that does not have your navigation links.
Also add some key phrases in your title, keyword, and decription meta tags. The robots seem to like the key phrases and give you a better ranking if it finds those key phrases in your body text. You can also use the alt tag for images and comment tag to add key phrases.
Another thing you may or may not want to do, is get linked up with other sites similar to yours. Not just any site. The bigger and more popular the better.
Nice suggestions Alphadesk :)
The robots.txt file will help a lot of the engines properly navigate your framed site.
Probably the most important thing is popularity. Many search engines consider link popularity as a primary factor in their algorthym. Get as many sites as you can to link to you, as Alphadesk said, the more popular they are the better ;)
