Best for what? For whom? It's the only open source solution I've ever heard of. It has its advantages and disadvantages.

Dear Evert,

I have been working years on open source and custom programming of script like jobsites, shopping carts, online catalogs, Content Management and other stuffs I could possibly think of. If you are looking for a shopping cart with lots of capabilities, options and is for free, then this is your choice. The script is actually equipped with the standard features a commercial version would provide, the only fallback is that support will come from different people with experience on this script rather than an employee working on the script itself. Meaning? you have to work the script on your own with no reliant technical support. But if you would ask me, I will recommend this script (oscommerce) 100%. In case that you may want to look at other options, I would recommend you going to http://www.ossuite.org

This site offers you an optional approach to oscommerce, the people behind the program did a very, very, very great job in customizing oscommerce and it works very neat, I actually tried it and can attest to it.

If you need any assistance or anything else, write me at my address wenzlerpaul@yahoo.com. I am very much willing to extend whatever free time I have.

Hi Evert,

I have been using Mal's free e-commerce and find it to be very easy. http://www.mals-e.com/

You can be set up in minutes and they have an on-line button maker that spits out the code that you simply copy and paste to your page.

Later~
