View Full Version : Oscommerce Shipping & Payment modules?
Hi Everyone,
Up to this moment I have managed with the help of forumites to get my Oscommerce cart to work a little bit but my PAYMENT & SHIPPING modules do not work.
The GENERIC CC MODULE does not have a CVV Code which I will likely need for offline credit card processing
I have an AUTHORIZE.NET account but I keep getting an error message that indicates a rejection of my acount. Also, no CVV CODE button.
UPS & USPS modules will not work except the FLAT RATE module.
I have tried some of the PATCHES and even registered for UPS access keys for the patches and it will not work. I have reinstalled several times.
Anyone have a soution to this?. Thank you in advance!
Song.
There is a contribution to add the CVV code to the generic CC module, but keep in mind that using this means you are storing the CVV in the database (unencrypted), which may be a violation of your merchant agreement. I don't know anything about authorize.net.
I have the UPS and USPS modules working fine. UPS was easy to set up, USPS requires that you apply for an account with USPS and then send them mail asking them to activate you on the production server. This is not well documented (keeping in the osCommerce tradition.)
Thanks steve. I have requested that I be activated in their producion server. I am registered now with both shipping companies.
Please, what did you do to get UPS to work?
The CC issue?, I now understand and will implement it as its.
Please can anyone help me with these 2 error messages that I am recieveing from my Shipping modules
1) United Parcel Service ERROR MESSAGE
An error occured with the UPS shipping calculations.
Unsupported country specified
If you prefer to use UPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner.
2) USPS ERROR MESSAGE:
United States Postal Service
-2147219080 - Missing value for Country.
Please help!

I posted a help regarding USPS and UPS, fortunately I got it to work minutes ago.
It worked only when I switched from v2.1 to v2.2. It worked perfect.
What I did:
1) I completely removed Oscommerce v2.1 and installed v2.2.
v2.2 = MERCEDES BENZ (S series)
v2.1 = Classic Pinto ready to explode and kill you!
2) Registered with USPS and got my Password/Username and swore by the Gods not to violate their 25 page rules.
3) Initially the Password/Username will allow you to access their TEST servers.
4) I Called them back 1 hour later and have them activate my account so I could use the PRODUCTION server.
5) 2 hours later I ran the shopping cart and it worked.
6) For UPS, remember to modify the value for country code in shipping/packaging module of the Configuration area. (ALL THESE EVENTS ARE TAKING PLACE IN THE ADMINISTRATION AREA ONLY).
CHANGING SHIPPING STATUSES:
Pending = Ok
Processing=Ok
Delivered = Shipped (changed) :- I changed the "delivered" status to "shipped" in order-status table of the database using my favorite dbase tool "mysql-front"
Thats it folks. its little but I hope it takes some heat off!!
Thanks Steve for respondinf to my earliar questions?
USPS needs to get with the times here.... seems like anything small business oriented you do with them is like pulling teeth.

Hey,
Did you ever get the CVV part to work in MS2? I have the modifcation from the OSC site, but it was written for MS1. I am going to try to break it down and make the corrections myself, but if you have it done already it would be a great help.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I tried it few times and it introduced errors into all the ardous work I have done so I left it hoping that someone in the Oscommerce forum will do a better job with it. Already, there is a mod out there for 2.2 but it has so much files that I need to dedicate a good day to decipher the pieces and put it together.
The CVV2 code issue is a very important security issue since I do manual/virtual processing of the orders that I recieve. If It works for me anytime I will make sure to inform you through the forum.
My new Oscommerce shopping cart has gone live recently. I have redirected my old shopping cart to it ,but the idea of LOGIN has remained a dilemma to some old customers who will prefer to get in and get out. But I have to be patient. I tried to add the module that will allow them to shop directly but without login in but changed my mind. Its Pyschological for these customers, Its all in their mind, LAZINESS:o . So what I did was remove the LOGIN from the first page which allows them to settle down and start shopping for their favorite product until checkout. At the point of checkout, they have no option but to register (its like a bait). It works many times. I will keep in touch. Good luck Kevin.
