Hi all,

I am currently looking for a good message board to employ on one of my sites. It should - first and foremost - be compatible with Powweb's servers, and additionally be able to handle registering new users, posting in separate threads, threading comments, and automating the "Forgot your password?" feature.

Natch, freeware is also appreciated ;)

Any help is appreciated, and if you've currently got a MB running on your own site, I'd love to have a look at it for reference.

Thanks,
Jon Morris

I'd suggest phpBB (http://www.phpbb.com). It is a very easy software to setup, and is highly customizable, and is FREE.

I've got one setup at www.driveev.com/evboard however it was just put up, so there's not much to see. :D

I would like to suggest that you get Invision Board. It is very easy to use, and they have a free version.

I used to have that (invision) forums system set up on my site, but I took it down because it was never used.

IkonBoard is another Free one. They all look very good.

Id have a hard time choosing between those 3 unless some users could give some Pros and Cons to each.

PHP BB is very Popular it seems for some reason or another.

Maybe some peeps with them will chime in on the goods and bads as Im all ears on this topic.

Check Ceilidh from lilikoi.com. It fits your needs, is free and I know it works on POWWEB. You need the FreeBSD version. Bob

You should post this question to the PHP forum, you'll get a better response there.
