redirect not working

i want www.domain.com to redirect to www.domain.com/folder

In my .htaccess file i have:

Redirect /htdocs /htdocs/blog

--

This is not working and I have no clue why.

As you will see in this help topic:

the second parameter needs to be a full url, not a relative pointer.
