Has anyone looked aT, OR installed the new PhpPortal Content Management System? I am trying to but ot sure if the PHP limitations of Powweb will allow it.

It is not clear to me from your note what package you are using. I did a Google search for "phpportal content management system" and didn't get an obvious hit for an available system. I'm not sure I can help you, but I'm interested in finding something like that myself. I've taken a look at phpNuke and it is more than I think I need at the moment so I was hoping to find something a little simpler.

I suspect that a really good but simple content management system you might like to look at is phpwebsite, which is very simple to install and allows you to include images in a range of available template / page layouts.
PhpNuke seems to be trying to be all things to all people but seems to lack some of the basic features a cvontent management system should have in the ability to select and upload images to include in pages.
Anyway in the spirit of the forum, I think phpwebsite is what you might be looking for. Just go to http://phpwebsite.appstate.edu/
I'm going to go back and have another crack at phpPortal (I'll have to find where I got it from again so I can't tell you now; its very new), but if I can't work it out, I might come back to you and see if you can offer me any assistance. If I get it up and going I'll also let you know and you can have a look at it yourself.
All the best for now.

Hi just thought I would chime in, have been using phpnuke 5.5 for month or so found it pretty good to use relativly easy to install, though you will have to do a bit of editing of files and permissions setting.
Regarding the being all things to all people, yes I found that to be true particularly in the rather overkill are of having a half dozen ways to categorze content.
but overall very nice to use and more importantly tons of third party modules to extend it with.
