How come all of a sudden, all the songs I have been downloading only play arounf the first 15 seconds, and then the rest of the song is scrambled? I dont think it is my computer because a couple of my friends have the same problem too.

The copyright owners and record companies put those files out to annoy you. They are purposely polluting the data stream in the hope that your computer, and ultimately all the computers on every peer to peer network will eventually be overflowing with useless files and people will stop using the networks out of sheer frustration.

It's a brilliant idea actually. You have to hand it to whoever came up with it. It started at big labels, and now some indies are starting to use the same tactic. It's guerilla warfare - if they can't stop the networks through legal channels, they will simply kill them from within.
