When starting a Remote Help session I receive an error message as follows: Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the remote host name could not be resolved. Please try again. I get this message only when intiating a remote session with one person. All others work fine

gotta ask....
Since there's probably only about a thousand programs for some type of remote connections, ect.
Which one is this question in reference to?
Or is this a web-application , or program you've setup on your site?
a little detail goes a long way.

check the other user's firewall is allowing you in
as stated which program are you using ? can you enter ip address for a connection as opposed to machine name ?
"remote host could not be resolved" typically points to a DNS name resolution issue. Try using their IP address instead.
has this ever worked for you or has this problem just recently developed?

I apologize. I didn't know there were other " Remote Assistance " programs for Windows Operating System. I am using the Remote Assistance software that comes with Windows XP. I have used this program in the past on other computers using Win XP and had no problems.

just got back in town.
if you haven't resolved the issue, it sounds to me as if someone or something turned off a service, or if you;ve recently upgraded security patches, then more than likely that particular service changed from a service that automatically runs, to one that has to be manually started.
Take a look in "administrative tools" , "Computer management", services... and see if there is a service in there that has been turned off.
