Hello

I am triying to insert a Real Audio link to my site :

www.stampsmauritius/Sega.htm (http://www.stampsmauritius.com/Sega.htm)

option

<a href="/Sounds/reprends.ram">Reprends mo mari Anglais by Marie Josee Clency</a>

The ram files points to an rm file : /Sounds/rm/reprends.rm

When I click on the link, Real One Player reports an error
message

"Unsupported document typehttp://www.stampsmauritius.com/Sounds/reprends.ram"

If I link directly to the rm file, it will download the file instead of invoking Real One Player.

What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks for help
Peter

In the ram file, I can put the address of the rm file in either form

/Sounds/rm/soundfile.rm

or

http://stampsmauritius.com/Sounds/rm/soundfile.rm

neither works

look
You don't have any file name like soundfile.rm under the "rm" folder..

so, how does it work??

soundfile.ram and .rm were meant as examples, generic names

There are various ram and rm files, one of them is reprends.ram and *.rm .

Since I could not make it work on this server, for the time being I put the *rm's on a different server and am pointing there with the ram.

This works, but this of course is not a good solution.

I am still looking for a solution to have the rm files on Powweb, too.

Btw. do streaming Audio files not add up enourmously to the Bandwith consumption. With 3 mb per song you use up your monthly 12GB with 40 tunes listened to per day ?

Is my calculation wrong ?

<a href="http://sitename.com/foldername/songtitle.ram">

Your ram file should include a FULL path to the rm file.

Remove any blank spaces in the song title!

Is my calculation wrong ?

One of us not calculating correctly :)

3mb*40songs*30days=3,600mb=3.6gb does it not?

It seems that your ram file points to a local directory rather
than one on the web.

See the attached file

yes i know!
what i need to know is why?
the link does not point to local drive.
the link is:
http://www.oklastamped.com/Media/IntheRing.ram
it opens that window then points to local drive, Why?
IntheRing.ram is the file to be played.

I downloaded IntheRing.ram and it says

file:///C:/WINDOWS/Desktop/IntheRing.rm

which is what appears on the screen.

It should instead point to an .rm file that can be found
on the web, such as

http://www.oklastamped.com/......./IntheRing.rm

By the way, the file does not have to be in www.oklastamped.com, it can be anywhere on the web

Hope this helps

for real audio streaming to work....you have to make the File "song.ram" point to where the *.RM file is located...so song.ram should point to "http://www.yoursite.com/song.rm" and it will stream
