Anyone out there know where I can pay someone to do this for my website. www.wordservice.org
Dan
Let me offer up:
http://searchenginewatch.com/webmasters/meta.html
Do a google search for MetaTags and see what happens... you don't have to pay anyone to put meta tags on your site... you've obviously spent time building the site, spend a few minutes more to help your placement in the search engines.

Copy and paste this at the top of your page, before the <body> tag.
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
<html>
<head>
<META NAME="robots" CONTENT="index,follow">
<meta name="Description" content="Find out the meaning of things like the New Jerusalem, Babylon, Daniel's visions, and the Beast in Revelation and his number.">
<meta name="KeyWords" content="god,jesus,christian,e,ministry,publisher">
<title>Wordservice - Christian E - Ministry and Publisher</title>
</head>
Sorry, but one more...

Mark just gave you a really good "real life" example... don't pay to do this :)

Well thank you, Symo. If I could make money that easy, I wouldn't be up and on the computer this time of night. :)
I really could use a few bizillion bucks... ok ok... maybe a few mazillion bucks :)

Ah you guys or gals are great.
I really appreciate the way you and some of the others in another thread took the time to show me what to do. Even with the Front page instructions i wouldn't have known what to put in the box without seeing your stuff first. Of course I went to help in front page as a last resort, well not really, I didn't know it covered this subject but it was easy once I put your stuff and the Front Page custom page properties together. I would have never figuered out what I was supposed to put in those boxes without the input of others. I found a really neat site that you can enter your website adress and it will show you your meta tags and give you some free advice.

Oh yea,
So is that a minimum charge of a bizillion bucks or a bizillion an hour divided by two minutes work. Lets see, that equals, hmmm...ouch this is gonna hurt. You sure I can't work out some kinda trade off or something?

I've used Scub the Web many times in the past. It's a very useful web site.
Meta tags are notalways the best way to go because each search engine has its own criteria from 'grading' your pages....Take a look at the number one listing in search returns. Quite often, they won't have any Meta tags at all- (I don't mean the 'paid' listings that they sometimes place at the top).
Some things that have worked well for me (I'm always in the top ten in my categories, often number 1)
Short concise <title> using top key words...
<meta NAME="Description" CONTENT=""> Using key words, and any common spelling variations of them, along with any key phrase....
Using key words near the top of my text...
Not repeating Key words more than 5 or 6 times...
Using phrases and possible misspellings in meta keywords....
using alt text for all images......
Not using frames

I agree that meta tags might not help with some search engines, but I don't think they hurt either. Some search engines do still use them and they can be useful to those few that still do.
P.S. I totally agree with the NOT USING FRAMES comment. They can be a killer if one wants good search engine listings.

I took a quick look see at Scrubtheweb.com and didn't really see any categories that seemed to fit your website. You might want to just submit your main domain name to several search spiders along with dmoz.org and Yahoo.com and see what happens. Scrubtheweb has some great tools for webmasters, but I'm not sure how many consumers uses their site to search.
It's always good to know (and learn from) your competition.
They've taught me evrything I know....:)
Oh, one tip on getting listed in Yahoo.com:
Forget going through the main yahhoo.com to get indexed, unless you're willing to pay....Always go through your Regional/local/ Yahoo.com It will index your site much faster, and get added to the main yahoo.com database much more quickly, Your main objective is to be listed in 'Categories' , because this section shows first, before the other 'Web Pages' (misc) websites
I'm using google.com now for all my searches...Yahoo also uses the google search engine, but yahoo now has these awful, big, pop-ups and 'skyscrapers', which run across your page....Slows searches, and is sooo annoying!

Okay,
So what is a "Frame"
By the way Larry, I see you are in Thialand. My Brother has been there for three years now, as a teacher.
I also see more posts here all of a sudden, "spiders" and other submission info, oh boy , out beyond my knowledge again.
