I am looking for a MOBO for a HP Pavillion 542x.

Your best bet would be to just get new PC. My HP System Board went out and the lowest I could find a replacement for was $500 and HP wanted to charge me $1500 so I just built a new PC.

You may check on ebay though as that is your best hope.
