Has anyone experienced problems with Windows 98 systems? We have set up users and passwords. If a wrong password is typed in it will notify them, but if you click the close button, it will go ahead and take you to that user's desktop and information. Is there something else needed to get the passwords set up for Windows? The password is pretty useless if anyone can get into it just by clicking on the close button on the password screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As you've discovered, Windows 98 has (baically) no security.

THe username/password features are good for accessing resources over the network, but provide absolutely no local security (this is true of the entire Win95/98/ME codebase).

If you want real security (well, as close as you can get with Windows...), you'll need to use one of the Windows based on NT - NT/Win 2000/Win XP.

We are currently looking at changing all our computers over to XP. It is just taking us some time. So I guess we will just have to deal with it until we get the new operating systems.
Thanks so much for your input.
