All I see when I go to my site (http://grimreaver.com/) is www03.powweb.com
63.251.216.73
Ummm - this happened before when they had problems with the web server. It was working fine at about 6pm EST.

Guys?????????????

EDIT- I see that on my HTTP ops page it says:

VirtualHost disabled
Your website is not accessible because your HTTP service is not active.

Your Package allows 45GB's of transfer within a 30 day period. Your total HTTP transfer for the last 30 days is 20102.9138 MBs (19.63 GBs). The total number of requests your site has received is 28285, making your average MB per request 0.71.

Okay - why is it disabled and how to I enable it? Or is it because something else is not working??? Can I assume even though I am below my limit that the fact that my hits has grown by an order of magnitude in a few days had caused something to automatically shut it down? I guess I would have expected an email or something about it. Hmmmm............

Look in OPs in the history tab.

If your HTTP service was disabled, Powweb might have cut it off for a TOS problem. There should be a message in History about it.

Nope - just the 2 emails from over a year ago telling me my account would be set up and that they billed me.

I have edited my above message a few times, and I am now wondering if the fact that the number of hits on my site and transfers went from all but none to A LOT may have triggered something.

This is an automated email informing you that your web site weaselslair.com
has reached its 2.5 GB bandwidth limit for the last 30 days.
Sites that use over their limit are automatically disabled. Please refer
to our policy at http://www.powweb.com/policy.html.

If you would like to continue hosting with us, you need to keep your
bandwidth usage under 25GB within a 30 day period, or contact
PowWeb support to see if you are eligible for an package upgrade.

umm ... is it 2.5 or 25GB or 45GB per 30 days as it states on the OPS web page? I have NOT exceeded 45GB in any way.

So - is it 2.5 or 25 or 45??? Does someone have a problem with where to place the decimal point???

EDIT - ah HA - the message left off the word "daily" with the 2.5GB DAILY limit:PowWeb offers 45 GB of data transfer per month with a 2.5 GB daily limit. Bandwidth is calculated on a recurring 30 days. Sites that use over 2.5 GB per day or 45 GB in 30 days will automatically be disabled. Additional bandwidth can be increased by upgrading to our "PowValue Plus". Bandwidth cannot be combined with multiple packages. We reserve the right to not host any website that consumes over 60 GB per month. .

aaaaaa HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Problem is the link in the message on the OPS page to the policy page does not work (it has an embedded period at the end of the URL).

It's 45GB/month and 2.5Gb/day.

It also sounds like they need to look at their automated message. :)

It sounds like you probably went over the 2.5Gb/day. Email admin@powweb.com to get your site restarted.

Then I'd take a look at the log to see why you used so much bandwidth. If someone is leaching files, you can stop that or if it is just high usage you might want to optimize your site a bit (reduce images sizes, use thumbnails, whatever).

No - its my fault for putting a 92MB movie file from my PlanetSide game and assuming most people wouldn't care to download it!

Before I get it restarted (since it will probably be hammered again) I decided to ask billing@powweb if the Plus Pack has more BW per day - or is it still 2.5GB / day but 60 per month.

I don't know if it would be worth it to upgrade for the occasional spikes like this. Is it a "bad thing" to rely on the automatic disabling and assume it won't happen, and if it does just restart it the next day? This probably will hardly happen, but then I don't want to get a bad "track record"! :)
