Because DreamWeaver uses FTP, Powweb is compatible with it. Once your account is activated, you simply enter your server information into dreamweaver and you're on!

If you have problems with DW please let me know!

Lots of us use Dreamweaver with PowWeb - works fine. There's even a Dreamweaver section of this forum if you need DW-specific help.

I think Dreamweaver is the finest web design product out there and have used it for years. I'm now using the MX 2004 version.

No need for dreamweaver when you've got PHPNuke or Geeklog ;)

If you already have Dreamweaver MX, I wouldn't bother with the 2004 version, to be honest. At least for me, there's not enough new and better that makes it worthwhile. I've encountered some bugs which weren't in the old version. Sigh....

Interesting. I do have MX, so I'm probably going to wait on 2004. What kind of bugs? CSS was supposed to have been a major difference - is it?

Well, some CSS things render better, some worse. I encountered a bug with a float:left style on an image - when MX2004 renders it, it overlays the first line of paragraph text on the image. MX2002 didn't. It also has a major problem with some pages that use templates, not allowing you to change code that should be editable. I have this under discussion in a Macromedia support forum at this moment.

You can try it for free - I suggest doing so. But unless you're encountering troubles with the older MX, I'd suggest not rushing to upgrade.

Thanks for the info Steve. I have absolutely no qualms or problems with MX 02 so I'm going to stick with it.

Now for the harder decision - which new laptop to get!! :D

You can up the fonts size while using IE by clicking "View" on the menu and then clicking "Text Size". The select a larger text size.

Believe me, I tried that.

DW4 is eligible for the $199 upgrade to MX2004.

The Macromedia site, like a lot, uses CSS with font sizes fixed in pixels. Many sites choose much too small a size for text, must all be designed by 18-year-olds... :D

Maybe you could lower your monitors screen resolution.

LOL@Steve. now that's one way to look at it lol

omegaman66>> I knkow aobut resolution,, haev it set as far as I can get it to.. and I even use a magnifyer sometimes.. that's very hard tro do with a large ammount of reading to do.

And OUCH on that upgrade cost lol,,,, methinks i"ll be ok for a while yet hehehe.

Psssh..... get an alienware notebook. The absolute best in my opinion. Much more scalable when it comes to upgrades down the road. The cool casing doesn't hurt either!
