How long have Powweb had this 15000 file limit?
Somehow I was able to get up to over 30,000!
I have a small site.
What is the deal?
Now I can't FTP, and somehow I have to cut half my files!

It's been in the fine print since April 02 or earlier.
It's been discussed alot recently if you do a search. Personaly, I believe powweb could have handled 'pulling everyone into line' a little better.

I'd contact Support for further instructions.
Can I take a wild guess? Are you using Front Page?? Using FP actually uses TONS more space than normal web development tools (ex: Dreamweaver).

No, I am actually using very little of my quota, and I am not using Front Page to publish. This is a disaster, I can't figure out how I am going to have the time to get rid of 15,000 files.

Interesting. I figured since you were at 30,000 that Front Page was involved.
I can't imagine having 30,000 files!! Are you running anything out of the ordinary?

Nothing that I know of.
The only thing is that I have two bulletin boards. That is the only thing I can possibly think of.

That could be it. Something just doesn't sound right though. Have you contacted support?

I contacted support regarding the fact that after they moved my site (Jupiter) that I could no longer upload files and no longer view my bulletin boards. They responded twice that I should be able to, that they had to lock my files during the transfer.
After my third response I got this:
"Hello,
You have exceeded the 15000 file limit. There are over 31890 files in your
directory. You must delete the files so that yo may be able to upload. Contact
us if you have any additional questions.
Thanks,
Brian S."
It would be interesting to count my files, but I have no real time to count to 30,000.
It is also interesting that they let me get that high. Again, I am not near the disc space usage. So they never warned me.
I can't imagine going up to 15,000, never mind 30,000

You can't begin to cull files on mass untill you have access.
Contact support.
Once accessible d/l everything you can before you cull.
:edit:
Do a search an admin already addressed jupiters changeover + "file limit"
