Does anyone know how to capture mp3s from a DVD?

errr, no. Not directly.

What you basically have to do is rip the, erm, crap, chapters or whatever from the DVD (sorry, I forget the extension). Then you have to rip the AC3 stream out of that. Then you have to reencode the AC3 stream into MP3.

I use DVD2SVCD to rip DVDs to SVCD format (duh). If you leave the default options, it leaves all the working files behind, which includes an .mp2 of the audio stream (I believe that's the format). You can then fairly easily convert that to mp3.

Seemed to me that depending on your audio card you could record audio directly from your computer to disk (digital to digital) recodring... then just encode that to mp3... not sure though.
