My site has about 6,000 page views per day, a second site does about 100 pages. I find that the Webstats log analyses is totally inaccurate on both sites. Awstats runs fine on my low-volume site, but quits after five days of CRON on the high volume site - it just starts generating 'temp' files instead of re-compiling the 'awstats102003.txt' - if I switch to browser refresh and 'acces-log.1' awstats will process the log file, but doubles the page count - the same logs produce a normal page count in 'Summary' - log analyses software which I downloaded and paid for some months ago when Powweb was zipping the log files so that you could download a whole month in one go -

The site is hosted on ww02 - most hosting services provide some sort of consistent, reliable log analyses tool - which powweb once had with the zipped log files -

My site runs 1000-2000 page views a day, and as far as I can tell, the awstats reporting is accurate. I suggest you delete the awstats102003.txt file and try running the stats once a day against access_log.1. This has been very reliable for me.

I can do that updating from the browser, but it breaks down in CRON - I am now updating using access_log.1 from the browser, but AWstats is doubling the page count. I think the program does not work reliably with large files.

I don't see why it should be any different in cron than the browser. I do it in cron. 6000 page views isn't all that large, really. I've had awstats process a log file that was 7MB - how big is yours?

6.5 M - CRON worked fine for 5 or 6 days, then AWstats started generating temp files instead of updating the 'awstats102003.txt' file. This happened twice, so I have given up.
