View Full Version : mysql setup fee
Hi,
I thought that the My Sql setup was free............when I tried to set it up, on the page that said to enter a name for the My Sql databse, it said that I would be charged a $10 fee. Just wondering if there is a mistake somewhere.
Thanks!

The first database is free, while additional databases are $10 each.
Well, i entered a name, and it said that there was a database with that name already and so I chose another, and then I think it then said that it would charge me the $10 fee
How do I see whether I already have a database set up or not?
Thanks

1. Login to ops
2. Click on your website under the 'Packages' table
3. Look for the MySQL tab. I believe if it's not there, you do not have a database setup.

Hey, while we're at it, I'm about to turn on MY SQL also... can anybody tell me step-by-step what I need to know to do it? One person said just click on the button in ops and give it a few database names or something like that, but how do I know what to tell it?
Appreciate any help to avoid messing it up... :)

Are you sure about that? I signed up for Powweb back in March 2003 (no regrets) and I definately got charged $10 to set up mySQL. I was a little annoyed at the time but I needed it so I set it up.
Perhaps I should be seeking a refund??? I can clearly see the charge on my account in Ops two days after I ordered the hosting package.
Cheers,

Yes, I'm sure. It was added to the package in June.
