View Full Version : OPS Add POP User option does not work!
The new Add POP user does not add user to the domain of the user, but rather to the mail.powweb.com.
It does not add the 4 digit prefix, so it will be tied with the domain of the user.
It looks like the OPS was released without testing it.
Also there is not such option under OPS to delete a deactivated user.
Please give the old interface back untill you fix the OPS.
Thanks,
Peter Ntoro
Peter,
There are no problems with Ops (other than a bug w/ adding mySQL users which our devel guys are working on).
Make sure that you read and follow the direction w/in each tab. You can easily add users now via the users tab. Just make sure that you specify what service you want these users to have (i.e. POP or FTP).
This is what you say!
Just try it!
Go to users->To add a new user to your package, click here. ->POP3->
specify:
name
username
password
password
Then the system creates a name for you without the 4 digit prefix!
Try to use this name to get your mail. It goes to name@mail.powweb.com
Just try it.
And by the way, THERE IS NO OPTION TO DELETE A DEACTIVATED USER!
Thanks,
Peter Ntoro
Peter,
Adding or removing users works flawlessly for me on all my test accounts.
Again, it is not an error in our system rather an error in how you’re using it. Our support members are working hard to develop support pages and our FAQ section for our new Ops area.
FYI, to delete a POP account, under the "POP" tab w/in "Package Services", simply click on "remove".
I don’t think we can make deleting POP accounts any easier.
After removing an account, the acount is still there with an [ Activate ] label next to it.
How do you delete this account? I do not want to activate it in the future. I just want to remove it, delete it, make it disapear, call it whatever you want. I dont want to see it on the screen any more!
How do you do it?
Thanks,
Peter
Peter,
Just click on the POP tab again to refresh the page. You will see that the POP account is gone. :)
Definitely something for the FAQ section.
Starr P. ,
I don't know on what system you are testing, but on my domain a POP account is never deleted. There is no such option/button/etc that will delete an account.
The acount stays on the screen with the [Actvate] link next to it.
If any other user experiences this, please submit your comments.
Thanks,
Peter
i believe when you deactivate the user on the pop screen, it's deactivated from using pop mail, you then need to go to the user screen and delete the user. i did it earlier today, but don't remember exactly how i went about it. i just remember it's one more step than i care to take to delete a user, but it DOES work
To delete a user, click on "remove" and then refresh page and that user will be gone.
FYI: Server now updates POP and FTP users every 10 Min.
We are not reverting back to the old "member’s area". Ops is here to stay. :)
NOTE: On the old system, 1234.user was really 1234.user@mail.powweb.com as well. Remember that we map mail.yourdomain to mail.powweb.com.
