2nd Domain Name

I'm currently owning a website and a domain name on PowWeb, I'd like to create a second website on my same account and have another domain name. If my second site is at mydomainename.com/my2ndsite/, can I point my second domain name to this URL? If yes, how much would it cost..., and where?

I first looked in the PowWeb's FAQ, but since I'm French, I didn't understand everything, and got lost.

Yes, you use an htaccess file to accomplish the appearance to two independent websites. This tutorial should help: http://help.powweb.com/tutorials/htaccess/subdomain.php#5

Just remember though that you cannot resell any portion of your hosting account.

Ok great. And what about costs? It says at tha bottom, "25$ to point the domain 2..." If I do not have a second domain name, will I have to pay one PLUS the 25$ charge?

Correct. The $25 fee is to put the second domain into PowWeb's DNS tables, set up mail capabilities, etc.

You can either purchase your domain here at PowWeb or at a different registrar (GoDaddy for example) and point the nameservers to PowWeb.

I have purchased a 2nd domain name and Its not working. How long does it take before the 2nd domain starts working? And is there somewhere to check for available domains?:)

A new domain requires propagation which can take up to a week, but usually only 2-3 days.

You can go to www.whois.net to check for domain availability.

I tried with a free domain name and noticed that when I download something from the site, it says "downloading from www.mydomain.com instead of www.myfreedomain.ca.tc", and I want to know if it's gonna say the same thing with www.my2nddomain.com. Cause the main reason I want another domain name is that I don't want people to see my *old* domain name when they download something...

Also, will I be able to create e-mails with @my2nddomain.com via OPS or... how will it work?.

You tried what with a free domain?

Email for the second domain is configured in OPS.

I pointed it to mydomain.com/my2ndsite and downloaded a file at my2ndsite.ca.tc/file.zip. But when I downloaded the file, it was writen "downloading from mydomain.com" like I said before. Don't know if you understand... I could give you some real links if you prefer.

Domain pointing and domain redirecting are two different things. You cannot accomplish domain pointing with a free domain.

You're right, I forgot it was only a redirection, so it means I'll have the right domain writen when I'll download from my 2nd real domain.
