I dont know where to post this one.

I have been collecting email address of various webmaster from the site similar to mine, now I want to mail all of them and ask for link exchange. What measures should be taken that no one gets offended. Would this be considered as spam?

I would use my ISP's smtp to mail.

Thanx

If you write a personal, individualized message to each webmaster, that would probably not be considered spam (though I find these sorts of mails annoying - I get a lot of them.) The worst thing you can do is write something that makes it look as if you never looked at the site at all.

Some site owners love link exchanges, some don't. I'm in the latter camp.

I agree with stevel.....make sure you mention something about the site you want to link with in your email. I receive requests that are 'copy and paste' type emails and you can tell they haven't visited the site. I'll only link to the sites that are similiar in content, and ask nicely ;)
