POPUP

But anyway, the image with 'free live weather' stays the same width, while the rest of the page re-sizes with the window (so the image is never lined up right with the page...unless you are over 800x600 resolution).

Lots of info...does have some organization...but the sub-menu font could be alittle bigger for easier reading. The rows are all different heights...try to keep everything uniform.

Again...its alot of info...and thats always hard to go through. Maybe try a few test designs and see how that come out. And maybe try to cut down how many banners you have on the sub-pages...since you are called bannerzap :D

Good Luck

Thank you for taking the time to look my site over. Do you know how I can get my "Weather" graphic to resize properly?

Thank You, Chris.

Don't make it as wide as it is...maybe 50 width shorter. That way it would fit 800x600 (majority of online users) to see it properly.

Or make the whole page width static (so it doesn't re-size)...the same width as the image.

I just made the main page static so it should not get distorted in some browsers. Any other comments are welcomed............

With the new image...on a 800x600 resolution...you're cutting out the entire right column (starts with 'shops and malls'). As I said before, most people use this resolution...so try to gear it for them...but its all up to you. :D

:( pop up... with pop-up blockers becoming more and more prevalent, many are not going to see it anyway.

Other than that, it looks like a standard portal... I am curious... do you receive $ when visitors click through?

Well it kinda like this... At first I thought of Affiliate advertising as easy money, sit at home and collect. I quickly found that to NOT be the case. So then I started thinking to myself "since I shop for many things online, why don't I just start putting those stores adds on my site, and then click on them before I buy somehting I was going to buy anyway?" As a result of this, I basically get some percentage of everyone of my pruchases back. It may sound silly, but for example you will notice a certain hosting company listed in the web resources section- 60% back from them was very nice! Plus, if anyone else clicks, then I also get paid. Its kinda like my own personal shopping directory. Makes it easier to spend money on something knowing you will get 10-100% back on that purchase.

Sounds like a plan...

One other suggestion: use verdana or arial intead of what you are using... JMHO.

After much criticism I have removed my beloved pop-up window. I am sure going to miss it. :(

Thanks for all your suggestions everyone.

hiya,

regarding the weather link on your site, you might want to check this out, http://www.hamweather.com/. they have a weather script you can install onto your site and it is very customizable. i know of a few people here using it, i saw references to it in postings here, thats how i found out about it.

I just changed most of the pages to fit better with the 800x600 res. What do you think?

well that definately fits better, on my screen anyway. i usually try to use table widths in %, instead of a fixed width. then pages tend to fit themselves for the window size of each browser. but sometimes a given page needs to be a fixed width, try it out to see if it works for your page(s).

cheers, -b

Before I made the changes all of my tables were in % but I had some images that were causing some bad distortion problems. And this has fixed it pretty well. The weather section is still in % and it seems ok that way.

Thanks. :)

Better for 800x600...can see all the columns.

For my sites (one HERE (http://www.berkswebguy.com)...I use % width. But I also use a spacer image (usually around 600 width) so the page doesn't get too small. Check out the above link for what I mean.
