The limit is now 3gb daily. :)

As for blocking downloads, PowWeb will do that for you by disabling your website whenever you go over the daily limit. When this happens, they will send you an email - so be sure you have a vaild one on your account.

Technically Speaking, the daily limit is 2.166 GB per day, as you'll be consuming your alloted 65 GB datatransfer per 30 days.

There are different download scripts, some of which will allow you to disable download after the limit specified by you, but all the downloads should be made through it. eg download.php?file.mp3

I use a script called Bandwidth Report.

Hope it helps.

Also, remember that the 65gb bandwidth is a rolling 30 day limit, not monthly.

Naveen - where can I find that script you mention? I'm interested in seeing it. :)

Here is the Link (http://www.pyroxpro.com/phpapps/) , this page contains simple but very useful scripts. The script is know as BackBone, the php file is named bandwidth_report.php.

This script will not stop the download but will tell you what & how much is downloaded, by adding a variable you can stop the downloads, its a very useful script specially for audio/video file downloads. You can specify the Max limit in the script.

Beware! You are only allowed to go over your limit a very few times - after 4-6 incidents, PowWeb will very likely kick you!
With the current Terms of Service / Business practices of PowWeb, it's YOUR responsibility to make sure that you don't use more than the allocated bandwidth in the long term.
(Of course, it's practically nearly impossible for anybody to control their traffic if he hasn't access to the same traffic data as powweb has... &-)
However, Powweb sends out a warning e-mail if your traffic for the day goes over 2.5 GB (unfortunatly, this goes to my HomeMail ...and I'm at work...;-)
