Can't connect to MySql

My forum was working great, overnight it stopped and I get this error mySQL error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
Any suggestions?

Hey bigblockgt,

I just noticed that the same thing is happening on my site.

I have two my_sql databases. One, which runs my forum and is on mysql1.powweb.com seems to be running okay but the other for my gallery, which runs on comet is throwing up the same error. :(

Im on comet and I have this problem too. Am getting that exact error when I try to use phpmyadmin.

Also get a "cant connect to datatbase" error on all my php pages that use mysql.
