AWStats stay @ 0

Even though I can see my awstats page, the stats are not running. When I click on Update... nothing happens, everything stat is 0. (the option to update by browser in the conf file is set to 1.
Also...the images at the top right are not being displayed.

At the top of the page there are these error messages:

Warning:" Syntax error line 1258 in file 'awstats.cben.net.conf'. Config line is ignored.
Warning: Can't find language files for "en". English will be used. "


Does anyone know what the problem is?

Well, I'd guess that you have a syntax error in your .conf file and a problem with the images that the page wants to load. Have you investigated these issues?

the syntax error does not seem to be related to any changes I made to make the script work. The line states:

m of chart with average values.

On the stats page above the dates if updates it states:
Never updated.

To me it seems that:
1) Paths are wrong
or
2) Cannot read files. check CHMOD?
