When I go to update files I get:
"Error: Couldn't open server log file "/www/k/keithswinneyband/logs/access_log.1" : No such file or directory
Setup ('awstats.keithswinneyband.com.conf' file, web server or permissions) may be wrong.
See AWStats documentation in 'docs' directory for informations on how to setup awstats."
Awstats has been working on my site for about a month now & now it doesn't work...
Any ideas on how this happened?
I updated it yesterday morining & clicked on update just now & got the error message....
I too am having the same problem, my access_log.1 has also gone fishin'.
Check if you find it using FTP!
Did. It is nowhere to be found.
Well, I use the access_log for my awstats analysis for over a year now and never had problems.
Regarding the access_log.1 you may want to contact support
Awstats & Webstats both stopped working ... maybe the corn has stopped working
Awstats manual update not workking :(
ah! I miss my stats ...
any ideas on how to get it back online?
I checked the erro log ...
[Mon Nov 17 04:26:28 2003] [error] [client 66.152.97.243] Premature end of script headers:

Ok I just got 500 internat server error while manual update ...
any help would be appreciated
EDIT::
Error: Can't open log file /www/i/indianceleb/logs/access_log
was found in corn.err
What server are you on Naveen?
I'm on www08. One night the logs don't roll over and the next night cron doesn't run!
I get responses from support that "we just looked and the logs are rolling over fine" - even though when I FTP in it clearly shows a 2 day gap. They did fix it, but denied any responsibility.
I was told cron is working fine. My cron stops and starts like cars at a red light, with absolutely no intervention from me. It doesn't run one night, I make no changes at all, then it runs the next night. Very odd, but extremely unlikely that this would be a crontab file problem.

Everything is saved in logs, check your error logs.
There maybe some changes made by powweb which are causing problems.

I placed a call, guess I'll have to wait and see again.
There are no errors in my logs, cron just simply didn't run again. Manual update of awstats worked fine. Cron will run again tomorrow or the next day without any intervention from me! This has happened on at least 15 different occasions in the past 3 months, but it's always my crontab file.

My cronjob successfully ran last night and updated my awstats. Unfortunately, Saturday's stats are MIA.
EDIT: Forgot to mention this cronjob is on www08.
my awstats updated normally with the cron
Tbone and nmsupplies - thanks for your replies, at least I know it isn't a server wide issue.
Unfortunately, I'm still baffled why my crontab would not run one night, and then run the next (without even placing a call to support!). That sounds like the server having some sort of hiccups.

I'm new to the world of cronjobs and this doesn't make sense to me either. I don't know if this would help, but have you tried creating the crontab file again and reuploading?
Just thinking out load here...

Not with the same code.
I have renamed the one on the server temporarily and then uploaded the "cron.php and crontab" supplied on Powweb's support pages. The last time I did this (3 days ago) that as well didn't work - but I just left it like that. After about 8 hours it just started working by itself. I then deleted it and renamed the original crontab and then that one worked the next morning.
Odd...
I took the very same crontab that didn't run last night which was set to run at "45 3 * * *" and changed it to "0 6 * * *" No other changes were made to the crontab - and it just ran successfully.

My stats are working again this morning. I'm not sure what the problem was. Something sowhere was obviously not working properly & it wasn't anything that I did or could control. I will go along with the hiccup theory.
