Can you login to OPS and click the sql tab?
Does your msql info show ... db name, db server etc.
If so this info is pulling from mysql02 and is up.
Try it now and tell us what you get, because mysql02 has defintely not been down for 3 days and I don't think it is down now.

Not sure what your asking, I went there and all i see is the users for the database, no info, nothing saying anything about server info.
I can't access the database with any front, nor is there any server found at that location

You don't see this something like this with a table below that list the users.
Your mySQL database XXXXX is hosted on PowWeb's server mysqlXX.powweb.com run mysqld version 4.0.16-log. Your database users and privileges are shown below. All changes are made in real time.
msql02 is up .....

Okay, looks like the server is running, but I think there is a problem with the routing from the website (server) to the database server :(

Hi,
working for the guy who posted mysl02 problem, here are all the test I made:
Volountary error made from my own computer connecting with a php file from apache
*bad database name:
Unable to select database
*bad database host:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'flisher@modemcable220.69-131-66.mc.videotron.ca' (Using password: YES) in d:\web\apache group\apache\htdocs\test.php on line 2
Cannot connect 2.
*bad username:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'flisher2@modemcable220.69-131-66.mc.videotron.ca' (Using password: YES) in d:\web\apache group\apache\htdocs\test.php on line 2
Cannot connect 2.
*bad password:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'flisher@modemcable220.69-131-66.mc.videotron.ca' (Using password: YES) in d:\web\apache group\apache\htdocs\test.php on line 2
Cannot connect 2.
now, if i block from my firwall:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'mysql02.powweb.com' (10061) in d:\web\apache group\apache\htdocs\test.php on line 2
Cannot connect 2.
Notice that last test give the same error than the webpage.
if I run the same php file without error from my computer, but from your webserver, it say it can't connect.
Since i read somewhere i should'nt be able to connect from the outside, and you where renumbering, my main guess is that there is a firewall or mysql server rule messed somewhere.
Since the problem seem to be existing for many people that doesn't changed anything on their website for different webserver(read other forum), my guess is there is really a problem that you won't be able to see connecting from your helpdesk pc...

I'm connecting successfully to my database on mysql02 from www08 - so the server is definitely not down.
actionsnaps - mysql issues and FTP issues are not related.

I did not know that, but there WAS something wrong on YOUR end. I am now able to access my files on your server. It concerns me that that this happened and there does not seem to be an answer for it?

Clarification: Mods are customers just like you. We're not PowWeb employees.

Problem is at least from andromeda.powweb.com server.
running a simple phpgile that only do a mysqlconnect and a mysqldbconnect work from my computer, putting online on andromeda say it can't connect.
read the error message, mysql is made very clear. "Can't Connect" message is tcp/ip no connection. Then it can be for a few reason: invalid host, invalid ip, target not existing...
Sicne you are renumbering... it can be a rule forgotted somewhere, or an hardcoded host. but the problem can't be a user/password, since mysql is "intelligent" and would return an invalid user...

I am really not liking the way this problem is being handled, it is easy to blame all the users, but you should at least send a tech to check this out....
Report it to PowWeb support.
It appears there was a problem with the routing tables on andromeda. I was not able to ping the mysql server though it is up. I was able to from the rest of our machines. I have rebooted the server and am able to connect now.
If you are on another server other than andromeda and are still having problems, please let us know what hostname you are on.

Sounds like the same sort of problem we're having on mysql04, although it does seem a bit more stable tonight than it did lastnight.
Refer to post 'mysql04 problems?' in this board for the problems we've had.
