i like the site, very easy to use and simple! looks good on a mac. the only thing i notice is the first block of the flag is a little off.
Brian,
Yes, very clean and easy to navigate with a pleasing design. And, by the way, works great on an 800x600 res monitor, no horizontal scroll and everything looks fine.
1. I'd suggest getting rid of the "warning" popup that asks users to change their resolution. Many will see that and turn away. Remember, about 1/2 of your visitors will be running systems with 800x600 resolution.
2. What are you selling? We, humans, are visual creatures by nature, we like to see pictures of the things we are going to purchase.
3. Not sure that offering a "demo" that requires a user to phone for the password is going to work for the majority of your visitors. If you do keep that "feature" then you should state that it's only good for those living in the U.S.
4. I'd suggest that you use a stylesheet instead of having all of your CSS in the head of every page. That tends to make the page size larger than it need be.
I like the site......clean, easy to use and it loads well, but...... on my monitor which is set at 1024 there seems to be a little problem with your left section of the flag, there is a large gap between the edge of the image and the right edge of the cell it's in..It definilty looks better on a monitor set at 800 than it does on mine.

jj said about everything I was thinking. And the three images of the flag can appear in one td (table data) with nothing to separate them. Place the header in its own table and use border=0.
<table width="0" border="0" height="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td width="243" height="0" valign="top">
<img src="images/sterren.gif" width="243" height="243" />
<img src="images/allebei.gif" width="243" height="243" />
<img src="images/strepen.gif" width="243" height="243" />
</td>
</tr>
</table>
I think a white background behind the text would be better. You can choose another color for the body background. Gray is dreary.
Thanks for the comments guys. Much appreciated. The spaces between the 3 pictures are actually supposed to be there. Thought it looked good. I can get rid of the java pop up. You are right...its really not needed.
- The reason we put the..need to call for password is because we want to get the customer in a convo. When selling security systems and camera systems, you dont make too many sales over the internet. It usually takes someone being on site to determine final price. But i do plan on adding pictures of cameras to let custs get a view of what it will look like.
Keep the comments coming...i wanna make this site turn out nice

1. If you decide to keep the (yuck) popup, at least change "bested" to "best" :D
2. You need to look at your design in a different browser besides IE. In Mozilla Firebird and Netscape, your left flag section does NOT fill your table cell. That is what !cc was referring to I believe. In IE it looks fine, but the mozilla engine browsers see it differently. As I always suggest to designers, if you don't want to download Netscape, at least get Mozilla Firebird (http://www.mozilla.org/) to check your designs in. Firebird installs by just unzipping and does not have the extra baggage of email or composer built into it.
3. Why not create a small Flash annimation or slide show to "demo" what is capable with the security system? May not be feasible, but if it is, then everyone would have a chance to "SEE" what it's all about.
4. I'm an electronic technician, so I do understand that security sales depend a lot on what enviroment the system is going to be used in and that Internet sales are not your main goal. However, you still need something to make them want to call you before you even have the chance to give them your best sales pitch.
5. Since this mostly a local service, it would be best if you stated your location right up front. So the visitor doesn't think it's something they can get even if they live in Paducah, KY If you put a location on the main page, it allows them to know up front that it's in their area or not. Many times a visitor will remember that, and pass it along to someone who may be in your area.
Thanks again. I will edit the java script out in a few. The demo is actually pretty neat...You can view camera's online... the password is 215 if you guys wanna take a look. I couldnt really include that in a flash demo. I do have a slideshow planned for pictures.
I also downloaded firebird to test with mozilla...i see the issue now. I will correct that as well
Thanks, again

I tried to see the demo. The status bar shows the yellow triangle with the exclamation point and WebDVR Start. I downloaded the plugin and never saw anything. I think the Javascript message in the status bar meant that the file was waiting to start, but may not have been found.
I just logged in...worked fine
did u have the proper site code
100-001
password 215
it shoudl work fine...its apache software

I used 100-001 from your site and password 215, but saw the empty box instead using IE 6. This time I spotted "Error on Page" in the status bar before seing "WebDVR Start".
The least you could do is come out of your cubical and wave :D
Works fine in IE, Mozilla wasn't too thrilled with it. Mozilla and plugins don't always get along well.
But what's with the Korean language prompt? I was prompted that I needed the Korean language plugin for the site (in IE).

jj, You can't see me wave, because it is already dark here! ;)
I didn't get the Korean language prompt. That is odd.
the software is actually from korea...i was told. THat is where the main propritary softare comes from for the DVRs. I am not in there. I am at home. I am out and about most of the time, doing installs sales and playing with the computer side.

I tried IE 6 with same result and Mozilla Firebird with a blank space where the movie should play, no error in the status bar, and I could not see the login info I typed.
I am pretty sure that Active X is updated on my computer since I only recently reformatted and reinstalled stuff.
do u have an ati video card?
somtimes they cause issues...also video memory...if u have onboard video or not much of it..that causes issues too
Yvette,
If you don't have an ATI video card, don't check the "Direct X" check box.
The software probably creates the page with a Korean language META tag. Not a problem, just rather odd knowing that the site is based in the U.S.

brian34, I have an ATI Radeon card installed separately and do not use onboard video. Yes, that can cause problems.
jj, I didn't check the Direct X box the first few times, but tried it when I didn't have any luck. I never got the Korean text message, because it was previously installed when I visited another site.
