I've run a humour/rant/review magazine for three years now, and I've tweaked the look so many times I almost forget what it looked like originally. That said, I think I'm liking how it looks now, at least how the index page looks, anyway, so if anyone feels like paying a visit and checking it out and telling me what you think about it, it would be much appreciated.

The one thing that jumps right up and slaps your face, is those blue textual links on a black background. Hope you don't expect people to actually read those things!!!
I suggest that you either go with a lighter background or a lighter color for the links. Maybe do a style hover type roll over so your visitors can tell what they are clicking on.
Might help if the links changed colour when the mouse is passed over them. Otherwise a very nice site. Good luck with it.

The navigation color is too dark to read.
But I've got to agree with the others - I can't read any of the navigation links on the black background.
I see you've got a poll about your choice of font and I voted in it. Personally, I find fonts like Ariel, etc much easier to read but it's a personal choice.
I thought you could have added a few more pics to the few you have already in. Perhaps some more humourous ones since yours is a humour site?
Other than that, I thought it was an interesting site and, dare I say it, funny.

I personally have no problem reading the blue on the black, but I guess I have the brightness up on my monitor. What colour would anyone suggest instead of the blue?

Okay, link colours changed, at least on the index page, for now. I decided to go with a medium/light grey, which I think looks pretty decent on either a white or a black background.

Like the newer colors. Nice basic, simple design...but I think you will still improve on it. Looks like its been around for awhile...and has a few frequent visitors. With that said, I would try to customize ikonboard alittle. Like adding your own logo and putting some new colors on there...its pretty easy.
But nice, simple design...but I think a few well-placed images would be a nice touch.
WOW, you do have a message board, I couldn't read the links before :D
Link colors are much nicer and actually readable now.
I have to agree with the others, site could use just a bit more in the graphics dept and the forum (message board) should be customized to look more like it belongs to you.
Now fix the link font so the whole page does not shift when you mouse over a link in the text. I find that very annoying.
But looking much better.

What is the site about?
I think that when one sees a site one should be able to tell immediately what its about. Remember you only have a few seconds before a user clicks away, or stay and investigate a little further.
Dont abuse moving images.
Graphically.... it looks like a bit like default template.
Take a little creative license :)
