View Full Version : Site critique
Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to all this. Please take a look at my site, and let me know what you think. I'm still working on it, trying to get everything just so.

I may change something around so your first screen is shorter. A great first impression is a page with content that fits without having to scroll down.
I realize its nice to have a counter on a page but considering you're running a domain instead of a geocities site, you may want to try your own counter code (many different ways) or if you insist on bravenet, you may want to put it further down.
clear layout in general
you may want to shrink your copyright and last edited note... especially just in case you don't get to edit regularly... That's a downside to my site... I DO post my last update and I put it right out in the open... it hurts me when I don't update at least weekly.
The only major downside I see is your overall page size. On dial-up it takes a while to load. Any graphics program that will save jpg's will let you set the quality. Remove exif information and drop your compression to even as low as 75% but often I can get a small enough file with 85%... this will shrink your file sizes making the page load much faster.
not too picky I hope. Careful of croc... he'll bite... not too hard but I'm sure he'll put his two cents in here. I've not figured out if that gift in his mouth is good or bad yet... can't get the gumption up to try grabbing it :)

When viewing your page in Mozilla 0.7, the images on the right side of the page are getting cut off at the girls walking next to the man.
Yeah, I didn't much like the length either. I've just made some changes, moving the links for Linkpartners and others to my Links page (temporarily) and shortening the overall length. As for the counter code, I'll move it later today. Unfortunately, right now I have to do my work in the office, then go to an Internet Cafe around the corner to upload. Oh, the joys of living in the 3rd World! Thank God we're getting DSL installed next month (maybe?) I'll also work on the graphics later today.
Thanks
