Hey you guys.
I've noticed that I've gotten quite alot of e-mails in my powweb-email... I have told no one about my e-mail address, so I was just wondering if it was normal.

There is alot of ways to get on a mailing list...which gets you on mailing list...which gets you on a mailing list.
Powweb does not sell or give out email addresses. Email addresses are very easy to get...and are public property. Some people here, that use the catch-all account and don't auto-delete, try to put different addresses to see where the spam is from. Example, you go to yahoo...put yahoo@yoursite.com ; you go to freemoney.com...put freemoney@yoursite.com. Then you know where the spam comes from.

Alot of email goes to your mail server and not just your domain or "successful recipients". Try composing an email and leave the recipient blank. Sometimes you can send email to everyone on your server this way!
One of the most overlooked ways that email addresses get "out there" is by putting email hyperlinks on web pages, where the email harvesting bots will find them. While it's nice to have a link to "click here to send email to the webmaster", it's a sure way to get on the spammers' lists.
I've removed all email hyperlinks from all of my web pages, replacing them with gif images the email addresses and it's made a noticable improvement after two months.

Another option is to use a 'contact form' such as FormMail or the php mail() command.

Hey, thanks for the suggestions and all..
The only thing is, I have not posted that e-mail address ANYWHERE... I'm not suggesting that it's powwebs fault, I just don't understand how it can happen?
Honestly, the email addres is not posted or given away to anyone anywhere! It only exists...
Does it appear as a contact in your who-is listing?
<edit> I see it doesn't :)

I get emails that say the same domain name, but are not email addresses I created for my website. They are just dumped into my catchall default email address.
