View Full Version : ?morph programs?

There used to be a cool morphing program bundled with many scanners (the one I got it with was an EZ-Photo photo scanner).
I'm looking for a decent morphing program again and can't find whatever it was that I used to have.
I need something that will allow for multiple layers... I found a few that only allow for two images per final product. The program I used to have also let you set delay times on individual images before action started taking place.
You guessed it... I'm wanting to cheat... since I have Macromedia Flash MX but patience is wearing thin... I want to cheat. I've had a couple programs that can then also export to swf; so, I won't have to worry about giant animated gif files.... only problem with them is that they only allow for one transition.
Ideas? or someone that would want to do a flash for me?

Hey, I will ask some friends about the Flash or videos of them playing in the snow! I had some old morph programs that were free that used up to 20 frames which is much smoother than 2. ;) I have to dig them up and they may only work on Windows 98!

This may be fun. I just don't remember the program, but if I find it, I will post it.

uht oh ... she's goin' to try killin' my computer. I'm on dial-up right now and vid would kill this thing lol
I'll be on highspeed in a couple days. I'm expecting a ski vid for the site here shortly from a connection to the capital of MIchigan... Lansing!

Ah, I think this one was one of those freebies that worked okay. I just downloaded and ran it successfully on Windows 98 SE. Now you know why I still use 98, lots of stuff works on it. ;)

The site is in German, but there is a description in English.

Hijaak Morph uht oh... from a German site... is this safe <G>
allows you to create animated morphs with any number of frames. There's the key!! ANY NUMBER Store the frames individually on disk or have it make an .AVI file. From AVI, I hope I can find a way to convert to flash
Thanks a million I'm d o w n l o a d i n g it now ... give me twenty minutes and I'll be able to install it lol The other link, I downloaded the file but the support files for it won't cooperate Gotta love it... Win2k is Way2gay

what's the phrase I'm looking for?
open mouth - insert foot
Well, Croc has his mouth open but I won't give him my stinky foot... I'm sure my head would gladly suffice his appetite.
So I answered my own problem -to some extent. What can you expect from someone who sleeps 1-3hrs a day :)

Yo Skunk, I didn't mean to be rude mate.. if you took offense I'm sorry. I just meant, Flash MX can Import .avi files and then Save in many formats including flash file format .fla So that will solve one little problem.

We have imported several avi files to convert to Flash files. You can see some on my site. The Flash files were a much smaller file size for Joe's 3d graphics movies.

Croc - no no no.... Nothin' was taken wrong, had the chance to slap myself, so took advantage of it. You have the perfect avatar to make it work too : ) you know I never have any problems with you... too many people are strictly serious and can never have fun.
Yvette - the first file, as I mentioned earlier, wanted other support files that Macrohard (errr Microsoft) couldn't install correctly, the second program had a corrupt zip file, and I went ahead to see if I could find it elsewhere on the web but found out it is now MorphMan 2000.... I downloaded that too (10+meg on dial-up) just to have that zip file be corrupt as well. Is this a sign? Should I just stay bland? lol

Hmm. I downloaded the files and they worked for Windows 98 SE. I didn't try them on Windows 2000.
Your signal may be crapping out on you when downloading and the files are being corrupted. That happened to my sister when sending and receiving a database! She is really having problems now with that.
Or maybe you have another problem on that computer. Virus, trojan horse, something that is messing up your files.
I read about MorphMan 2000, but I didn't try it. The one I mentioned earlier worked fine. So, everyone is corrupt and corrupting you ! ha ha. Maybe you can reformat your drive and put another OS on it! ;)
Seriously, now, maybe you can scan your hard drive for viruses or something that can corrupt your files. I know my ISP still says not to use 2000 because of a worm like MSBlaster or related worms that mess up files. Or again, your slow Internet connection may pause while transferring data which causes corrupt files.

Worms and such... that's one thing I DO loke about this computer... they've kept up with the patches and such... they're also overkilling the system with McAffee and Norton both being on here.... but yeah, I don't see much worry for virus... For grins, I personally ran the msblast patch and it came up clean.
I'm thinking its a problem of all the other "CARP" (well, I was nice and rotated the letters) running on here and they freak if I shut it off. ever see a screen at 1024x768 with a toolbar that comes just over half way across?
WHERE'S MY POWERCORD... I WANT MY WIFE BACK!!! (well... everybody says I take the laptop everywhere I go ... so much that it may as well be my wife)
I'll try the downloads on my laptop when the paramedics get the paddles out.
Happy Holidays

Why use McAfee? It is CARP (to use your term). Anyway, you may not have enough system resources with too many programs running. You can close them while you are using the computer, but leave them on at bootup. That way they don't know you are doing that. Check your RAM.
ever see a screen at 1024x768 with a toolbar that comes just over half way across
No. I don't use screensavers or other CARP that hogs resources. My son installed one from PBSkids.org onto the laptop and I had to remove it. I wondered where that airplane came from! ;)
My sister tried her laptop when her computer went crazy and she got the opaserv worm. She was upset.
Hope Santa gets that power cord for you. Happy Holidays!
Search through your ancient floppies....
If ANYBODY has a copy of Gryphon Morph, please let me know. It used to come with Storm Technologies' Easy Photo photo scanner. Storm has long since died... and that's the software I used to have... that's the one I want.
Thank you.

Gryphon Morph was also bundled with Snappy video grabber.
Did you try eBay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2775716147
woohoo... I used to have snappy I had snappy AND easy photo scanner.
I found an old zip file of it - not even 700k but it is corrupt and I don't have the old pkzipfix to try fixing it.
I'd be spending $20 for something that the company doesn't exist anymore nor the software manufacturer... not to mention the fille isn't even half a floppy :(
I'm sure I'll find it *as Fival would say* Somewhere out there
Skunkboy have you looked at MeeSoft's SmartMorph? I downloaded it and really haven't played with it yet, but it is freeware and will do chained morphs.

Hope this helps.

You have to make a donation for chained morphs. Try $1. ;)
Skunkboy, I was hoping someone would find a copy of Snappy which would have that Morph program for you. If I find it, I will let you know.
thanks a million. Call me lazy for getting out of my project the easy way but heck... it would be nice if something went right sometime soon.
I'm headed out to download the other mentioned program. Thanks. And if anybody does find it, I would GREATLY appreciate it - perhaps I'll even mention something in the presentation giving credit to whoever "has the program"
hmmm, is there a program to morph humans? I would give anything to morph into someone 6' under right now... wouldn't have to put up with anything anymore. -if only.
granted I came inches from working for them when I was in Nebraska... made it from over 6000 to the final 7... scored highest on all of the final tests and they still didn't give it to me because of my age (everybody else was congratulating me when we left after the tests). I can't get the module I need without paypal and I don't have a paypal account
PayPal.... KISS MY ()()
YvetteKuhns
1-5-04, 07:57 PM
Skunkboy,
I sent a PayPal donation to them to get the password which should be emailed to me in a few days. Hang in there! ;)
Skunk my man... so sorry for not having dug into that donation thing. I'd gladly give them 5 or 10 bucks, but alas I only hope that PayPal has enough lip power left after they kiss your ()() to kiss my ()(). I had a couple of very bad experiences with PayPal and now that they are part of eBay, they can both kiss it... one on each cheek

If some of my clients didn't insist on PayPal, I wouldn't have bothered with it, either. I haven't had any problems with them, but I prefer more direct methods of payment. At least they convert foreign currency.
they never really gave me an answer as to why they didn't hire. I had the knowledge, had the speed on the keyboard - didn't believe it but 108 wpm... so I asked to take it again and came up with 106.
I'll always remember that test... being from Michigan, I knew which sentence was correct but they had it wrong. They had:
Michigan is surrounded by the great lakes.
when it should be
Michigan is surrounded by the Great Lakes.
Then, they had a single space after end punctuation all the time instead of double... that got me a few times.
Then the grammar test, my mom was a librarian.
Math test; my dad taught the electronics classes as one of the local colleges.
general idea of http, e-mail, telnet... I run a website... I knew that too.
but yeah... I scored highest and they didn't give me the job. for 2 positions they went with one person who didn't even show up on time... they were a half hour late to the test. oh well.
I used to do business through them but after that, I "boycotted"

Their loss, really. I think you are overqualified. Did you ever speak to PayPal support? :D
Yeah... tell me about it. hmmmm, then again, maybe its a good thing I didn't get the job. I don't want to be ranked with them. Even though... believe it or not... as a support tech with them they teach you NOT to read scripts... to make it a personal experience.
oh well.. I'm in MI again. now I've got a million other challenges.

That is obvious.
You would be overqualified for Micro$oft too.
SB,
You might want to try out Smart Morph (http://meesoft.logicnet.dk/). It's a freebie and not that large of a download (around 330k).
It seems to do a good job once you get the hang of it, and allows you to save the resulting .avi to disk.
I've got it already :) the only down side is that I can only do a 2 image morph... instead of morphing from image1 to image2 to image3...
good thing I've been on cable for the past few days... I've been wasting a lot of downloading.
I've been wasting a lot of downloading
Skunkboy, a mind is a terrible thing to waste, but cable bandwidth doing downloads is a wonderful thing to waste :)
Santa brought me a 160 GB Ximeta NetDisk for Christmas. It plugs into your ethernet switch on the network, so it can be shared by all the computers on the network. Real nice:
http://www.ximeta.com/products/netdisk.html ... but I digress...
Now that I have all that storage, shoot I've even been downloading Mac stuff, just because I can  Just love watching my download manager reporting the throughput in the 250 to 400 Kb speeds :D
Sorry for my thread drift...
symo
:D maybe a thread drift but it keeps this post up on the list... just in case someone happens to have an ancient copy of Gryphon Morph 2.5

Croc, that may work but it is much easier when the program does it all for you. ;)
If I end up getting all of the photos I need, then yeah, I'll do that if I have to. : ) save to avi then to flash... or if I can export straight to flash, that'll be even easier.
ok.. I'll shut up : )
you've been quiet in my posts but I see there's still life way out west of me... good to see I've not done anything wrong - yet

Did I mention Morpheus freeware to you?
http://www.morpheussoftware.net/
Check it out.
I know you really want to find the Gryphon Morph program and I will continue to search for it.
but I see there's still life way out west of me
Help! I've fallen and can't stop thread drift. Call the para-forum-medics.
Skunkboy, I'm "way out west" of you :D Croc is soooo far West of you (and me) that he's into tomorrow... and no, I'm not going to get into that time travel thing... that's what started the "assimilation" jacket that I wear in my avatar :D
I listen to AM in the wake-up morning, and today there was some comment like, "We're looking for Martians, and wouldn't it be weird if we found out that WE WERE Martians that colonized Earth, because we knew that Mars was giving it up?"
Wheew, that was a like 5:07 AM, so I know it wasn't Art Bell that said it  but an interesting thought.
So anyway, I think this added well to a morphing thread... don't you

There's a bunch of stuff I've got. Someone else is far better than I am at graphic work and is doing the photos for me... if I get the photos before Gryphon, I'll make it in sections and piece it together as mentioned by Master Croc.

You've been quiet symo?.
Good to see you out on day release. ;)

Sorry, promise I'll stop :)
Then, they had a single space after end punctuation all the time instead of double... that got me a few times.
Skunkboy I did want to throw in that on that one they were correct (probably).
The double space after a period is a remnant from the old typewriter days. The early models through nearly the end of typewriters (before they were killed off by computers and word processors) typed using a nonproportional font (IBM and Brother had exceptions). Typist used two spaces to set off sentences. Since the advent of proportional fonts and kerning, the gods of grammar and style have determined that a single space is the preferred method... probably... of course some of the gods still stand by two spaces
While there are still arguments favoring both methods some can be found at:
http://roselli.org/adrian/articles/2spaces.asp
http://desktoppub.about.com/cs/typespacing/a/onetwospaces.htm
http://www.thewritesource.com/mla.htm
http://www2.ncsu.edu/ncsu/grammar/Typo3.html
My rule of thumb (remember your hearing this from a guy in a straight jacket) is that with proportional fonts (Times New Roman for example) one space after the period; with nonproportional fonts (Courier for example) two spaces after the period.
There are occasions that if you import a document into different programs, some programs will morph the double space into a single space. See I got morph into the post and as such have not drifted completely :D

I use one space after the period for web pages (since the code ignores the second space). But I still type two spaces after the period for things that may be printed, including email. I did notice that I was typing two here. Old habits die hard.
YvetteKuhns, Ummm... you didn't use the word "morph" in a sentence :D Minus thirteen points...

I used Morph in a PM about Morph to Skunkboy in regards to the Morph program in which he required the password. The makers of that Morph program sent the password for that Morph program so Skunkboy can morph images with that morphing program. :D
Shall I edit the previous post to include morph?
As punishment for not mentioning Morph in a Morph powst, the subsequent text must include Morph x amount of times where x is queal to or greater than the amount of points lost.
Your post only displayed the word Morph 8 times; therefore, additional punishment may be dealt as deemed appropriate by selected administrators.
Skunkboy: But, the system admin didn't say you couldn't morph the amount of times to a higher number. I see morph 8 times in your post but if I cover part of it up, I only see it 5 times. oops, I've seen it 8, I've seen it 5; so, I've seen it 13... right?
Thanks Yvette
