I have just received an automated email from Powweb regarding the bandwidth. Is there an upgrade or something where we can have a higher daily bandwidth limit? Currently, Powweb have a 3gb limit within the 24 hours.

No upgrades...one package, one price.

Try to find what's causing your bandwidth problem...and limit it.

My website has been disabled for going over the 3gb limit. How long will this last?

I think you have to email or talk with support to get it turned back on.

Check your webstats or error logs to see what may have caused your site to exceed the bandwidth limit. Are people downloading files, playing games, accessing a database or something?

PowWeb can help you determine what caused this, so you can try to prevent it from happening again.

What caused it ?.. fix it. Then ask support to enable your site.

No use putting you back up if you're just gonna breach the limit again.

Could this file be the problem?

http://www.wc3net.com/invision/uploads/nocd1.12.zip

Shows a download of 6110339 KB

That along with the Invision board using a lot of bandwith.

I get that file as 2.79 MB or close enough. If like 10, 000 people d/l this it will cause a problem. So I'll say NO. More likely an errant script or some thing.. The topic starter Tri_3Dent is back up and running.

If you get a minute Tri_3Dent please post your fix here and how you found it. It will help me and others solve similar problems.

To help calm down the usage for your package, you may want to consider getting another domain... along with a second package... and then spread the pull between the two. I know it is a lot of work; but, depending on how busy your site is, it may be worth it.

As for a package upgrade, I know at one time I saw something here somewhere about an available upgrade. If I'm not mistaken, it was pretty pricey too. I've been searchin' all over for it again but can't find it yet. I know it was out there and I know it was on powweb's site... "I done seened it with me own two eyes."

I'll post the url if I find it.

The "Plus Plan" was dropped when the last package upgrades were put into effect.

One Plan ... only now.

*whew* I didn't think I was out of it. Little sleep per day can do things but I knew I had seen something. Well, now that you mentioned the name, I know we're talkin' about the same thing... at least I know its ... well... in the same situation as you and Paulselhi (nothin' but bones). Thanks for the clarification.

well i'm guessing that there were too many that came to my site on that day. Google listed my site on the first rank with the search of the file that people wanted to get.

Now, there is a huge decrease in visitors as google updated my site as Space and the IP :(

So name the file...

I and your fellow server sharers are not :( at all.. If you are into file sharing, then use one of the many file sharing programs available, let them suck it off your system and not degrade the performance of powwebs servers.

I hope you didn't take to much offense at my post.. it's just that file sharing is not Powwebs or Googles intent.. sorry for making an example out of you Tri3_Dent.. your posts are always insightful.. I hope others learn from them.

All the best.

My site was not intended to share lots of files. The site is to provide visitors news about the game. We just added some utilities or "resources" for the people that visit my site.

You might like to make it a members only d/l. Or even better adapt this php script to limit the number of downloads of the file. Better that than your site being disabled I'd reckon.

I am excited to see the adorable frog hopping out of the gift. I was too busy celebrating the holidays to visit the forum until now. My sister collects frogs and I got her frog jewelry again.

Thanks! Hoppy Holidays to you, too! :)
