View Full Version : Need FTP Help
Alrite well, my domains DNS has transfered to Powweb...
But I'm not sure what server I'm on for the FTP, I can't find where it says...
I thought it might be the same as the temporary FTP (on server: ftp01.powweb.com/ ) but I have files there and an index.html and it's not showing up on the permanent URL ( www.rscene.com )
My package name is: rscene and any help would be appreciated, thanks
Ok, I don't think its cause of Powweb, considering I just asked my girlfriend to view the page, and it all came up perfectly....
Well, it didn't work on my computer or my dads laptop, might it be a virus or something?
--Edit: I took down the index.html, if you wanna test it out, try going to... http://www.rscene.com/abstract2.jpg
--Another edit: Didn't work on my sisters computer either, somethings seriously wrong here
Nice graphic :)
Your site is loading fine for me using the permanent URL .
You may just need to clear the browsers cache files or the DNS just hasn't propogated fully yet.
Thanks for the compliment on the graphic :)
Anyways, how do i clear my cache files I completely forgot
If you are running Windows and IE then you can go to "Tools" > "Internet Options" and then click on "Delete Files" in the "General" section.
Alrite, I think theres a problem, everyone I've asked, www.rscene.com/abstract2.jpg works for them (I've asked people that live all over the country, including by me)
If anyone has ANY idea's on why I get "The page cannot be displayed" please tell me

Hi el2ikAlrite, I think theres a problemThere is a problem, but definately not on powwebs end.
1. Did you clear your cache like jj suggested?
2. Do you have Zone alarm on and or firewall?
Also try this link and see if you get the graphic.

http://xyz.rscene.com/abstract2.jpg doesn't work for me either...
Yes, I cleared my cache
Yes, I also have a firewall on my router, but Ive had an account with Powweb before and it worked fine, plus I can view other Powweb sites, so I dunno whats the deal... I'm running a spyware scan right now maybe that'll help

It could just be you ISP cache. Nothing you can do but wait..
Or your location.
What is your OS. (98, Xp, Linux)?

It's got to be your location or ISP.
But to truly dump your cache:
Running Disk Cleanup itself won't do it, only the *Mb that's in Temporary Internet Files folder. So!.
-Close all windows and programs
-Run Disk Cleanup: Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Cleanup
-Highlight Temporary Internet Files
-Click View Files
-Delete all the folders (they are regenerated next time you hit the net) Have a look in them first alot of suspect.js in there. Nuke em all!!. Leave the .ini and .dat files.

I dunno about this, but it can also be that his computer is caching the IP. Maybe flush the resolver cache?
"Start" > "Run..." > Type "command" (without quotes)
In the window that appears, type this command:
ipconfig /flushdns
Type it exactly as above and you will receive a notification that the DNS resolver cache has been cleared.
If this does not work, then your ISP has not yet updated their DNS servers and you need to wait for this to happen.
HTH,
Samuel
Alrite well in the meantime, you get 1 free SQL DB when you get a package right....
Where do I go to set it up, I thought in OPS but I can't find it

Packages>Billing/Plan .. tab .... down at the bottom.
Once you add your DB you will have a mysql tab, then you can add 3 users with pass.
Just wanna say thanks for all the help you guys are awesome here,
hopefully it's just the DNS at my ISP hasn't gone through yet and no real problem
Baby i love you with all my heart :) You mean everything to me!

There seems to be trouble, I cannot see 'rscene.com' on PowWeb's DNS servers. Maybe you should contact support@powweb.com.
-Samuel
To elaborate - your domain is pointing to PowWeb's nameservers, but PowWeb's nameservers don't know about your domain. As Samuel suggests, you should contact PowWeb support immediately.
