New Customer-Need ftp access

I'm a new customer. I have gained ftp access to download a page, add a new folder and upload to a new folder. However, when I try to upload any file to the three existing folders ("cgi-bin", "htdocs" and "logs"), I receive "553 Can't open that file:Permission denied". Does anyone know how I can change permissions remotely??

Seems this has been a problem with new setups lately.

If you can login with FTP and try to chmod the folders to 755.

If it wont let you try deleteling the folders and then recreate them chmoded 755.

If that still won't work ..... you'll have to get admin to reset the permissions.

And this worked for one customer ...
