Hey all, anyone notice me a bit.. ummm.. "snappy" today?.. Sorry.
The thermostat just broke 51 degree Celsius in Outback Australia. That = 123.8 degree Fahrenheit. It's 40C - 104F here now.
Kangaroos are abandoning their Joeys in order to reach the nearest water source. And adult roo's can smell water 300km+ away.http://www.streetsie.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif All I can do here in my Air-Con room is look for something positive. I see a swimsuit calander, my beloved TV remote, And a group photo of my nieces.
What positive can you see?.
Eternaly Optimistic
Croc.
Hey Croc, need to cool off, come on up for a visit. It warmed up today to a whole -13C (9F) from a low last night of -32C (-25F).
No matter what the weather or life tosses our way, it's always special when you awake to a new day (considering the alternative) :)

Positive? Well, I suppose some dead joeys is better than dead joeys+dead mother kangaroos. At least there's the prospect of more joeys in the future.
Move down to Melbourne, mate. We never get more than a few days of any kind of weather and usually we get a few kinds of weather in a single day :D
well.. we got a foot+ of snow today.. that help you cool off any croc?
though.. I love it.. makes everything so clean & pretty.. just very happy the power stayed on and that, as I'm currently unemployed, I had nowhere I had to be!
as to your heat wave.. I do NOT envy you.. we have a spare room if you wanna come play in the snow..

My temperature is normally 80-120º F and we are used to that. But right now, the temp. is about 70º F and I'm freezing!
I mean, this may seem good for you american guys/gals, but OUR normal temp is NO WAY this cold for us. Not forget to mention that when it rains (like today) we get a nice 60º F for our bones to much.
I love snow, tho I havn't even seen it for real not even once. Any pics? :)
-Samuel :)
The only Positive I heard today was that the Average temp went up by 0.59 degrees over the last year.

Let's see...
this week here on the coast it looked like a tsunami as high winds carrying top soil from fallow fields combined with heavy fog to create a black wind....
a couple weeks ago we all ducked under the conference table with our hinies sticking out as an earthquake rocked us back and forth....
a few weeks before that the orange sky rained ash as southern california burned...
i keep thinking about the 10 plagues......

I've got about 5000+ photos on my site and the majority of them are from the winter. So... need pics? :D

per your request, this was taken yesterday.. there was no snow on my car yesterday morning... (and the neighbor's fence across the street took a beating from a hit & run.., or maybe a hit & skid?)

Yikes!!! Sure glad I don't need to go back to Wa until May. :)
I'm loving it though.. tis the first "good" snow we've had since '96. As long as the power is on and I don't HAVE to go anywhere at a specific time (i.e.: can take my time if i have to go out) - then I'm all for it.

That pic makes me feel fuzzy.
I would defenetly like to go there in winter time, but thanks to my mom, I can't.
Anyway, it looks kewl tho.

If I knew it would get there, a styrofoam container inside a styrofoam container, inside another, with newspaper between each full of snow could be shipped. Good idea if anybody had the deep freezer to keep the containers in for a couple days just prior to shipping. I've done that with good food from someone I know in Chicago but it takes two days tops to get here. I've also sent ice cream from a local shop that makes their own back into Chicago and it has gotten there (via UPS) still frozen. But yeah, not sure it would survive the trip that far south.
-just an idea if someone in one of our snow states could afford overnight or something like that.

A +0.5 degree increase should be a positive for Melbourne. :D
