hey i just made a website THECRUNK.com (http://www.thecrunk.com) that is going to be a promotion group over the summer for chicago "urban" parties aka ghetto. so disregard ther aint much content, but anything else ANY please hlla cause i wana get the site out before then thanx yal! robert

Intro:
thecrunkenter.jpg is 91.5K - loads real slow on dial-up.
You may want to make the image a hyperlink into the site as well. Instead of having the </a> after ENTER, you may want to move it to after the image.

If you use frames, note that not all web indexes (google, yahoo, etc.) are frame happy... they may not index it correctly if at all.

News/Info:
For being 188x240, http://www.thecrunk.com/Images/Jukes/penthouseparty3xxxx.jpg is 118k, another slow loader.
Kings of Crunk, and Top Music have the updated message bleeding over their title.

Music:
Cool idea. Only thing I have to say here is ... beware of copyright laws.

Gallery:
Looks like you're using another service out there. There's many programs out there which can make thumbnail images for you. From there, you can display the thumbnail and then link to the bigger copy. -verses relying on another service.
Also along the lines of using a service like what you're using, not everybody wants to download various things just to be able to view pictures - myself, I had to download java updates.
Another thing here - watch file sizes. A link to a large image is the best way to do it but on dial-up, if large is the only way to go, people may not wait.

Your page is starting a new browser window... not always the best way to do things; but, then again, I do that on a couple of my pages for various reasons - just figured I would point out that I noticed it.

thanx! and u knwo wat... that button for LINKS that come in its own BLANK i think i corrected that 10 times and it goes back every time!! wtever.. i redid like half the graphics and links on the site, its still gona take a bit to load, but to my best without taking away photo quality :/
and fotki.com, my gallery host, i really like it because viewers can leave comments on the pictures

I agree with what Skunkboy said. Replace frames, include copyright info, do not use files illegally. Convert mp3s to swf format for smaller file size and quicker loading.

I am unable to see the entire menu of links on the left in 800x600 screen resolution. After hitting F11, I think that the last link is Contact Us. Otherwise I only see down to Kings of Crunk.

The contents may be objectionable to some audiences, so a warning would be appropriate. The home page could have a smaller image and some text describing the site purpose/contents.

Interesting site for its target audience. Ooh, I saw the Big Butt song. The video is funny. I don't know many of these songs, but that one is not too bad. I have a 6 year old son so I don't want him to hear some of those lyrics. If he repeats that at school, I will certainly get called. ;)

My son likes the website, the diamonds, the music, the picture of the girl Putze. It was difficult to see the images in the frames. We had to scroll to see a peek of the image.

He was dancing in my office as I clicked to see the pictures. Luckily, he is in kindergarten and didn't read some of the words. He also liked the picture of a guy mooning. Mark loves to do that.

Am I old? (35 years old) He thought this was cool and I am just saying - lose the frames. Maybe I just need a break. The concept is great and the look matches the feel of the site. It works for its audience.

OK so i see the frames MUST GO... but i am sorta new to making webpages, ive seen sites with like .asp endings and tons of ?#.ksdgkhlg thingys at the end of the page your looking at, and it looks like a page with multiple frames, but they are somehow put together and load without redoing the whole page, what is this??? i think this is what i should be goin toward, any help?
and the mp3s well for now no one knows the site cept my friends, and im changing those to stream soon instead dl.
and the ad banner, i really didnt think it would be so bad because its a ad? hmf

Lose the MP3s. PowWeb's terms of service explicitly bar copyright violations. They can and will take your site down if it is in breach.

Apart from that, I'm getting some fairly serious rendering problems in both Firebird and IE with text blocks overlapping each other (see screen capture).

Feel free to keep a frame look to a site if you want; but, do it with tables instead <table><td><tr> tags. If you look at my site, I've got tables on top of tables on top of tables to achieve the look I've got. (which some of it will be changing soon hopefully)

As for the funny files, those are more than less CSS - Cascading Style Sheet pages. At the same time, they could be PHP. Either way, those are quite a bit of work. Your same design can be achieved with tables for now till you master CSS or PHP.

At the same time, someone who is into those may be able to steer you toward a good program for writing in those languages.

Music snippets (short edited samples of music up to 30 seconds in duration) may be used for NEWS and considered fair use. But even that only allows a limited number of plays.

I have affiliate ads that reviewed my site before allowing me to be an affiliate. Their terms cleary state that I may not link to sites that promote gambling and a list of other objectionable sites. The smoking ad would be a violation to them.

wow ok so all u that saw the site.. go back!!!! its redone, faster, and cleaner :) and more profesional sorta..
thers no cigaretts "pictures" tho thers still links, oh well, ill read powwebs soon later. gota redo some graphics for the music so wait on that.
BUT i dont kow if its just my computer, but wen i uploaded the new site (which all i did was syncronize with my local files, not touching the forum) my forum ISNT WORKIN?! aaaah maybe its jus me, hopefully it is. it seems like a chmod problem but it looks fine in ftp iono.

I like the horizontal navigation menu of links much better. Your forum works fine, too. Your site is improving.

I had to increase the screen resolution to see the Contact link in the upper right corner where your banner is. I think you should lose/hide the smoking links. Once you lose all frames, we can see your contents much better.

thanx. i just put in alota time to make the site correctly viewable for everyone.. took out alota frames and cleand it up. i made everything the minimum width that any computer uses 780px and the special text i changed to images cuz i think Macs didnt have the same one. well that should be it, if u guys have any extra stuff please post em thanks

780? Actually, if using a fixed width 755 would be better to include the space wasted by the browser's vertical scrollbar. I still get horizontal scrollbars for your music player page.

Your pages and folders have nondescriptive names. For example http://www.thecrunk.com/pages/index2.htm has a folder named pages and index2.htm is not as descriptive as musicindex.htm. I know the names are from the web editor and because you use frames. If your site grows to have alot of pages, this will become more confusing.

It is still difficult to see the images for your Kings of Crunk gallery. Visitors should not have to click in that frame and scroll to see parts of a picture. The entire picture should be seen. Try changing the height on that frame until you learn not to use frames.

Don't forget to remove any items that may be against the web host policy. You don't want to do all this work and have your site disabled. Good luck.

hey again!! im back.. and with a the new website :) um ya yvetts n whoever said watchout mp3s, they got me before i could change it! lol that was such a pain in the butt. its fine now... and ive found the wonders of tables too! they are so great, added a much titer look to my site. if anyone could glance at the site and mention anything i appreciate all them!! ive corrected alota things from here ~rob

Looking better! Still can't see the images in the frames. Like the buttons in the horizontal navigation menu (links). There are spelling errors, but with the slang, I guess it is not important.

I like the link for Chicago that gives information about places to go. Be sure to ask permission before including a photo of a place. Yes, there are issues even about that. But I am sure the owners will not mind.

Your links page is very neat. I don't think you need to label your affiliate or referral links as sponsors. Just mix them with the other links.

I clicked the link to snoop at your AOL personal website. The image of you is cute! And the girl hugging you is cut out of the picture. Must be an ex! :D
