but i started this before i heard of the blast in iraq.
I have been playing around with collisions and wanted a box to explode anf the fragments to bounce off the floor and walls however cinema 4d does not allow rigid body collisions to act on parts of an object only the whole
here is the result of the work so far :
box explode 1.21 mb divx (http://www.black-and-white-to-color.com/stuff/boxexplode1.avi)
what i did was set the explosion fx to have negative gravity so the fragments won't go through the floor
i then added a particle emiiter with 3 different deformed cubes and set these up with deflectors to bounce off the floor and back wall, though this is not that obvious i still wanted the effect
the count down is the ditools number shader
a simple pyro for the blast and manual moving of the camera, i have never worked out how to use the vibrate tag as soon as i apply it my camera goes and sulks in some obsure part of the scene
now this is very rough and the pyro is a bit compositye looking but render time was about 15 mins, not too bad for the much maligned render times of pyro !!
Now though TP could well make some improvements it is just far to fiddly and this approach is straight out of the box, apart that is from pyrocluster
i will take this a bit further and try blowing up a small street next :D
