I just started using PHP/MySQL and it took me 30 minutes to figure out that it wasn't on my end (home or code on me site) :D
Thankful for that...
mysql05.powweb.com is down. I signed up for two DBs by mistake and checked my other one at mysql03.powweb.com and that is still up and running.

I'm also down. 5 times in the past four weeks? That's a bit much IMO.

my forum is down also.
:(
I have only been here a week. Has this problem only emerged during the last 4 weeks, or is this a long term issue (has it happened during the past year or two).
Just trying to get some information about how good Powweb really is.

Judging from the fact this isn't in the Outages forum, it seems this was planned, or not accidental at least? Great timing to pull a server for maintenance.

Admins are aware and are addressing the issue (see the announcement forum for the post).
And as for mysql stability - it's improved 1000% since remote connections were disabled. I don't know what problems the other users were having in regards to mysql05 being down four/five times, but one of my packages using mysql05 has not been down since remote connections were disabled.
Thank you for the quick reply
perhaps it'smy fault :p since I registrered my domain last week at powweb I Noticed that mysql05 went down 3 times. the first 2 times was very short.this time it's longer :(
This is amazing.
Since I have been with Powweb (1+ week) there has been an extended ~temp page issue and now sql5 down. Does a reduced price make reduced reliability acceptable?
I know there will be outages but they seem pretty common with Powweb. I signed up for a year so I am stuck.
Please restore as quickly as possible.

you can also try no linking to other hosts - Pig if you look for another web hosting. they managed to lose my entire website and they don't have something like a backup utility. my database was already 100MB big and I had a backup but I couldn't restore it back to the webserver :(
so now I start here all over again, but it's not a warm welcome with this mysql05 failing 3 times in a week :(
Looks like the problem is only with one server (mysql05). Do we have the option of using some other SQL server ?

back up and running. thanks :D
i don't think its been down enough to be out of control. besides, i don't know of any other providers with 5gb bandwidth per day, 150 gb per month for $8 a month.
just my $02.
yep it's every value for it's money. but glad my forum is back online now :)
My site is up too.
So far (in 1 week time period) I have been very happy with powweb. If this problem doesn't persist than i would definitely stay here.
Thanks for the guys @ powweb - site is functional now! :)
I may have over done it. Frustration is a pain in the butt!
Thanks,
Wiz
hoho~~
it's not working now!!
the third this week
lucky I missed that last one :p
