I don't use Photoshop, but did a search on Adobe's site. Here a link to some information about adding copyright information to your image:

Hope this helps!

If all you want to do is put a visible mark of ownership on your pictures rather than an electronic one embedded in the images code, then you might take a look at Picture Shark.

http://www.picture-shark.com/download.htm

It is free, easy to learn, quite sophisticated, versatile, does batch processing, and if you couldn't tell already, I just like it.

Hope this is useful to you, Blurchy.

hi

dale and maninic

the picture shark wont be any good for this

particular thing because im doing a textures cd

using .tga files which means they cant afford

to be covered in any way. tga files are used in 3d animation

to cover objects ,like a box in pictures of wood marble etc

so the box looks like a block of wood

(you probably already knew that) it does look like a cool

program though i might give that a whirl

as for the photoshop link that explained a lot

{adobe quote}
In Windows, you can add file information to files saved in Photoshop, TIFF, JPEG, EPS, and PDF formats. In Mac OS, you can add file information to files in any format

i was doing it right all along

but what id not considered is the file format

i just tried doing a jpg the same way

and it worked a treat

it just wont work with .tgas :(

ill have a go with the adobe watermark but im sure

ill be able to see the noise they add ,especially

when i zoom in on an image which is what most

people will do when making 3d animations

thanks for your help guys :)

Yes I know about textures, bumpmaps, and such. Didn't understand from your first post that is what you intended to do. You are probably aware that there are places on the web that are just loaded with textures from commercial collections. I dont know if any of those textures are actually protected electronically, but I suppose it is worth a shot. If putting an electronic stamp on them is degrading to the images you are trying to sell, you might be better off without it, though, selling quality at a fair price rather then trying to protect yourself too well but losing sales because of it. There are plenty of low quality textures to be had out there. But that is just my opinion. I would be very interested in hearing about your completed CD when you have it done.

hi dale

the textures cd is done now the only thing id like to add

is some copyright protection , dont get me wrong i know

theres nothing to stop people copying the cd, its more

about whos copying it , there will be some invisble

tracking ill be adding. each cd i sell will be slightly different

in a very subtle way so if a full cd of my work turns up

ill spot the differences and know whos copied it.

anyway the cd itself is a mixed bag of textures

i started off doing them the traditional way

you know wood brick grass etc then i got carried away

(as usual) and started manipulating the images

changing everyday objects into unrecognisable images

its mainly sci fi based, ill be putting some images on my web site

not the images themselves but stills or maybe a little

animation to display how theyd look in a 3d environment

they are very colourful , i mean if you get a good spacey

looking texture in red

then why not do it in other colours too

to me its annoying when you get a great texture

but you hate the colour and have to take it into photoshop to

change it, adding extra time to your animation.

i made this disc for myself more than anything

its all the stuff i like to see in a computer animation

bricks and houses are ok , but you can film them

i like to see things you cant film

things only computers can create , weird stuff.

the textures range vastly in file size from

----------------------------------------------------

8.93meg 2040x1530 pixels

right down to 26k 93x93

the vast majority are just under 1 meg

while the building materials are around

2-3 meg + each

----------------------------------------------------
24 bit

528 textures under 1 meg

135 textures well over a meg each

663 in all

i did them at 24 bit for backwards compatability

also most were made under 1 meg for the same reason

the only thing im not sure about is price

theres a few examples here

http://www.3dcafestore.com/textures.html

just cant make up my mind

£20.00 or £40.00

guess id better finish building my site first eh

lol lol
