I use HotMeta Pro 5.0 for my webpage design. I wish to encrypt a couple of pages in my site so that my music that I have for sale through PayPal doesn't get stolen. Anyone know how to do this effectively? I still like to think that the majority of people are honest like me, but I wish to thwart those who are not. Any ideas? Write me directly at randy@rockmusicmp3s.com

If you have a link to music to be played, it is downloaded to the computer. You can Save Target As to save the music file and it is also stored in the Temporary Internet files.
You can have a link to a snippet of the song instead of the full length version of the song. Zipped files can be stored in a database or a protected file. Once someone pays for a song, send the link to that song.
Each buyer should get a username and password for an account and only allow downloads for items for which the buyer paid. You can also use a text file to store usernames, passwords and selected items that will be stored upon payment. This works like a database.
The main issue is protecting the music files. Be sure to use htaccess to protect the folder where the music files are stored. Also tell search engine robots not to index music files.
